A new rumor hints that these Spider-Man: Brand New Day villains are part of a larger plan

Spider-Man: Brand New Day will bring us Peter Parker in a new light, fighting both new and old villains. So far, Scorpion, The Hand, and a new mysterious villain have been confirmed to be the villains Peter will face in the upcoming film.

While we know very little of the new threat to New York City, we might see one familiar villain in their own future MCU project.

The MCU might have bigger plans for The Hand beyond Spider-Man: Brand New Day

Scorpion and The Hand are the two villains of the upcoming film we are already familiar with. As for the new threat, all we know is that it is a force that one cannot even see. Peter is the only one who can defeat it since he's the only one who is unaffected by it and can sense it. While we don't know if we will see Scorpion in the future, a rumor suggests that the MCU has a larger plan with The Hand.

As reported by MyTimeToShine (@MyTimeToShine) on X, The Hand is going to get a standalone MCU project. While we have seen The Hand in Elektra (2005), the Netflix series Daredevil, Iron Fist, and The Defenders, we haven't seen them in the main MCU projects before. The Hand will finally be seen in the main MCU timeline in Spider-Man: Brand New Day, and if the rumor is true, they will also get their own film or series in the future.

The last time viewers saw The Hand was in The Defenders, where the earlier leaders of the organization were defeated by Daredevil and Elektra. Elektra was also assumed to be dead until it was recently confirmed that the character will return in Daredevil: Born Again Season 3. Matt's identity as Daredevil has now been revealed, and he's in prison.

If Elektra is still the leader of The Hand, we might see her send The Hand to break Matt out from prison in Spider-Man: Brand New Day. The trailer shows us Peter fighting The Hand in what looks like a prison, which highly suggests that they are there to break Matt out.

Besides, Spider-Man: Brand New Day might be the project through which the MCU is reintroducing us to The Hand, and the organization might be getting their own project soon if the rumor is true. While one can't yet guess what the project's story could be we might get to see what happened when Elektra was presumed dead and her and the organization's comeback.

So far, this news is solely a rumor, and Marvel is yet to confirm or deny it. We will hopefully know if a project on The Hand is on its way once Spider-Man: Brand New Day is released. Marvel might also announce the news close to or after the release of Daredevil: Born Again Season 3 because Elektra will most likely play a viral role in the organization's story.

Spider-Man: Brand New Day is going to be released in theaters on July 31, 2026.
