The trailer of this new movie, which has Olivia Colman along with many other prominent cast members, brings forth a hilarious story of a fisherwoman whose life takes a turn after the arrival of her new husband.

Her husband, however, is not quite usual; he is created by a local basketmaker just for her. Here are the details of the upcoming movie.

Alexander Skarsgård takes on the role of Olivia Colman’s character’s husband in Wicker. When Olivia Colman’s character in the movie is constantly troubled by the villagers for not being married, she takes a rather unexpected decision. Instead of taking a husband from among the villagers, she decides to ask the local basketmaker of her village, played by the very talented Peter Dinklage, to make her a husband using wicker.

Following her orders, the basketmaker builds a husband for her, and the two of them get married quite to the surprise of the villagers. However, things take a turn when this wicker husband of Olivia Colman’s character gives her the happiness she has been looking for. It slowly transforms her life and brings back her fervor.

This transformation is quickly noticed by the villagers, especially the women of the village, who begin to envy her husband’s abilities. In the trailer of Wicker, seeing the relationship between the fisherwoman and her husband, some of the women of the village note that her husband is “strong as a tree and just as hard”. To add to the jealousy of the women, the fisherwoman also tells the villagers about the time she has with her husband.

Through the years, Alexander Skarsgård has brought life to many layered characters and depicted his distinct acting prowess. Through the snippets of his performance in the trailer of Wicker, his ability to completely embody the roles he takes on can be understood. She also added in an interview with Deadline about her character, the fisherwoman, in the movie, adding that the fisherwoman’s initial goal was to “retaliate” as she was being constantly “ridiculed” by the villagers.

However, when the basketmaker creates her a husband, she falls “in love” with her husband, which eventually “unravels” the whole village as they have a “better relationship”. The manner in which the trailer of the movie captures the jealousy and shift in mentality the moment they see the fisherwoman happy with her husband leaves an impact. Colman also added that she “loved the script” of this movie, and it is one of her “top three favorite scripts”.
