IU and Lee Jong-suk’s breakup has created an immense uproar, just as their dating rumors sparked four years back. These two talented actors with breathtaking skills have been dating for four years.
Lee Jong-suk spoke about his relationship during an award show in 2024, after which their agency confirmed that the two of them were dating. It is rare to see South Korean actors revealing their dating lives; hence, the news about IU and Lee Jong-suk was quite a surprise for their fans.
Their fans have also shared an immense positive response regarding their relationship in the past. With the news about their breakup, which has been announced by both IU's and Lee Jong-suk’s agencies, a past comment about IU’s dating style has resurfaced and is creating speculation among the fans.
IU’s old comments about her dating style resurface after IU and Lee Jong-suk’s breakup
Earlier this year, IU brought life to a distinct character in the K-drama Perfect Crown, which received immense positive responses along with many mixed responses as well. She, along with her co-star, Byeon Woo-seok, appeared in a radio show hosted by IU’s close friend, Yoo In-na, titled “Yoo In Radio”.

In the video, while they speak about their new K-drama in the show, Yoo In-a also asks them many questions related to their personal lives. In a question, Yoo In-a gives them two choices and asks them to choose which dating style is “exhausting”.
The first option that is given to them is a “thoughtless robot-like” partner “follows without spirit”. The second option given to them is one who is “a human alarm” who is like someone who makes “schedules every minute” and does not prefer to rest even if exhausted, and keeps pushing to go to the next spot.
Both of these options were quite shocking for both Byeon Woo-seok and IU, as neither of them expected such a difficult question related to their dating style. Yoo In-a eventually asks them to choose the one that is better, leading IU to choose the second option.

Byeon Woo-seok gets quite shocked at the answer and even teases IU, asking her if she likes being “suffocated,” to which IU replies that she loves it, and it makes her happy. She also added that she is better at getting along with things, and the second option is a better choice for her. Hearing IU’s answer, Yoo In-na asks her to stop joking, as she often ends up in the hospital after following every plan.

According to Yoo In-na, IU follows every plan and does not signal when she is exhausted, causing her to collapse and end up in the hospital. Yoo In-na also urges IU to choose the first option so that she does not get exhausted. This video has shed light on IU’s dating style and has resurfaced after the announcement of IU and Lee Jong-suk’s breakup.
Viewers have already started to speculate regarding their relationship, sharing their opinions on social media sites. Both IU and Lee Jong-suk have gained significant recognition in the world of entertainment with their performance. On July 10, Lee Jong-suk’s agency, Ace Factory, revealed IU and Lee Jong-suk’s breakup.
According to the report, IU and Lee Jong-suk have “decided to remain good colleagues” after their breakup. However, details regarding the reason for IU and Lee Jong-suk’s breakup are not revealed by the agency. As the situation is related to “the actor’s personal life,” further details were not unveiled by the agency.
