Asmongold reveals Twitch ban duration and says he’ll appeal to reduce it

Twitch streamer Asmongold has once again faced suspension on the platform after comments he made during a recent livestream sparked controversy online. He's known as Zachariah "Zack" Hoyt whose account was taken down on August 7 as he discussed immigration and a video about Moroccan migrants in Ceuta, Spain.

According to reports, his zackrawrr account was banned, which he uses for Twitch broadcasts. The platform has publicly explained anything about Asmongold's suspension, but the streamer has now revealed that the ban is for two weeks.

He also mentioned appealing for a shorter duration of the ban, but nothing is confirmed as of now. If his account doesn't come back, he might go live on Kick or would simply go on a vacation. The streamer isn't really sure about his final decision.

Asmongold reveals how long his Twitch ban will last

Asmongold has revealed that his latest Twitch suspension is set to last two weeks, although he does not expect to necessarily spend the entire period away from the platform. The streamer was suspended from his Zackrawrr channel on August 7, shortly after a livestream in which he discussed immigration and reacted to a video about Moroccan migrants in Ceuta.

During the discussion, he made controversial comments about how border crossings involving children should be handled. The streamer reportedly argued the possibility of lethal force could act as a deterrent, which took less time in drawing backlash online and his Twitch account suspension or a temporary ban.

Initially, Twitch did not reveal why Asmongold's account was taken down or how long this ban would continue. But in the latest clip, the streamer provided more clarity by saying that Twitch gave him a two-week ban.

However, he plans to appeal the decision and hopes to have the punishment reduced to one week. For now, he is also unsure what he will do if the appeal does not shorten the suspension.

He also said he could use the time to go on vacation, but he has also left open the possibility of livestreaming on Kick while his Twitch account remains unavailable. This means his Twitch ban won't limit him from streaming.

Asmongold’s latest ban adds to his history of Twitch suspensions

This isn't the first time Asmongold has been banned from Twitch over his comments during livestreams on the platform. His Zackrawrr account has previously also faced suspensions, like in October 2024, when the account was suspended for about 14 days.

It reportedly happened after he made highly controversial comments while discussing the Israel-Palestine conflict and the situation in Gaza. He later apologized and acknowledged that his increasingly negative style of communication had become a problem.

The fallout also led him to step away from leadership roles at OTK and Starforge. He was suspended again in April 2026, this time for comments dismissing the opinions of people he referred to in derogatory terms.

Asmongold pushed back against that decision, arguing that Twitch had applied its rules unfairly before the account was restored. And now his latest ban seems to have the same situation, as the streamer is willing to appeal for a shorter suspension of his account.
