That's what Marvel's all about, it's assembling heroes that might not get along and forcing them to do whats best for the world. Seeing the X-Men, and the Avengers, and the New Avengers and the Fantastic Four together is a dream I never thought would come true"X (formerly Twitter) user @AvengersUpdated posted what Feige said on the Shanghai Expo stage. Days before the Marvel event, the synopsis from the expo made it online, which read:"Earth’s Mightiest Heroes — Steve Rogers, Shuri, Thor, Loki, Ant-Man, Captain America, Falcon, Shang-Chi, Bucky Barnes, Yelena Belova, and Red Guardian — along with the Avengers, will return in Avengers: Doomsday."Apart from the eleven characters mentioned in the synopsis, it also teases more unconfirmed heroes across the MCU. other than the Marvel Cinematic Universe continuity, the mutants from the early 2000s X-Men film franchise are also appearing in the movie. The Marvel boss described the MCU and non-MCU crossover as a dream come true.Referring to the unexpected team-ups as an "alchemy", Feige said this on the stage:"We have a thing at Marvel called Strange Alchemy, putting these characters together that should never really be together. That's what Marvel's all about, it's assembling heroes that might not get along and forcing them to do whats best for the world. Seeing the X-Men, and the Avengers, and the New Avengers and the Fantastic Four together is a dream I never thought would come true"Why is Doomsday is special? View this post on Instagram Instagram PostThe MCU epic is the culmination of the Multiverse Saga. Doomsday will set the stage for next year's Avengers: Secret Wars, similar to how the ending of Avengers: Infinity War set up Endgame. While it is unclear what will happen after Secret Wars, Kevin Feige famously told the press last July that the MCU could be resetting after Avengers: Secret Wars. Therefore, the multiverse will play a major role in Avengers: Doomsday and Secret Wars. The multiverse is the reason Robert Downey Jr. is returning to the MCU, but he will portray the accomplished sorcerer and scientist Victor Von Doom instead of Tony Stark, a role he played for a decade; additionally, the multiverse is also why the original X-Men actors are returning, and the Fantastic Four are from an entirely separate Earth.Doom might be looking to solve the problems of incursions caused by MCU characters, continuing the storyline set up by Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. Fan theories continue to circulate, suggesting that the multiversal incursions may have destroyed Doom's reality, prompting him to address the threat of multiversal incursions. The sorcerer and scientist also aims to punish all those who doomed his reality, which many believe is none other than Steve Rogers. If you remember, Rogers chose to live in the past with Peggy Carter in Avengers: Endgame, and doing so may have caused an incursion. It is rumored that the first Avengers: Doomsday trailer might drop online the same day as Marvel's Hall H panel at San Diego Comic-Con on July 25, 2026, at 05:30 PM.
