''Something's coming. Something we may not be able to deter.'' This is how the MCU teased Doctor Doom's arrival in the official Avengers: Doomsday trailer. The highly-anticipated 39th film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe will mark Robert Downey Jr.'s return, but in a new avatar, as Victor Von Doom, aka Doctor Doom.
While online chatter suggested Marvel might drop the trailer at their upcoming hour-long panel at the San Diego Comic Con, they took everyone by surprise with a trailer drop.
The recently released Avengers: Doomsday trailer offers the first glimpse at the MCU's greatest heroes, as they unite to take on Dr. Doom.
More on this in our story.
The MCU unveiled the official Avengers: Doomsday trailer
The moment all Marvel fans had been eagerly waiting for is finally here. The MCU has unveiled the official Avengers: Doomsday trailer, which unites heroes from three different universes, namely the Avengers, Wakandans & New Avengers from Earth-616, the "original" X-Men from a separate universe and the Fantastic Four from Earth-828, against the movie's big bad, aka Doctor Doom.
It looks like Chris Hemsworth's Thor will be leading the pack as he is seen uniting the superheroes in the trailer. Thor announces the arrival of Doom and prepares the heroes to unite and fight against him. What follows is a montage of sequences as the heroes put on their best fighting skills.
In addition to the footage released at CinemaCon, the Avengers: Doomsday trailer offers exciting sneak peeks of thrilling moments from the film, namely Gambit/Remy LeBeau (Channing Tatum) fighting Shang-Chi (Simu Liu) and Yelena Belova (Florence Pugh) going against Mystique.
The Avengers: Doomsday trailer concludes with Thor as he prepares to go against Doctor Doom with his Stormbreaker, only for Robert Downey Jr.'s character to stop his ultimate weapon with one hand, clearly one of the most chilling moments from the trailer. While Thor and his team of superheroes have faced many threats, Doctor Doom is unlike someone they have encountered before.
As Thor hopes for a miracle, the trailer offers an exciting glimpse at Chris Evans' Steve Rogers, as he is reunited with his 'pal.' While Thor is shocked by Rogers' presence, Evans' character catches the Stormbreaker, smiles and the trailer cuts to black.

Trust Marvel to create hype for one of their most anticipated projects of the year. Ahead of the Doomsday trailer launch, the X account of The Fantastic Four: First Step, which has religiously posted the same clip from the movie for 75 weeks, did something out of the ordinary, leading to rumours that the MCU will drop the trailer soon.
While the X account was known for posting the same clip, where Reed Richards announces the family Sunday dinner at 7, fans were taken by surprise when Marvel crashed the party. Teasing Doctor Doom's arrival, the clip abruptly went to black as Sue Storm asked her husband, "How long do we have?" Reed Richards was not lying when he said ''Not long,'' as mere hours after this clip, the MCU unveiled the Avengers: Doomsday trailer.
With tickets for premium large-format screens like Disney's newly designated "Infinity Vision" theaters going on sale today, Marvel banked on the perfect opportunity and took everyone by surprise with the Doomsday trailer.
In addition to Robert Downey Jr., Evans, Hemsworth, Liu, Tatum and Pugh, the movie stars Pedro Pascal, Paul Rudd, Sebastian Stan, Anthony Mackie, Vanessa Kirby, Ebon Moss-Bachrach and many more.
Avengers: Doomsday is scheduled to arrive on December 18. Its sequel, titled Avengers: Secret Wars, is set to be released on December 17, 2027.
