Batman: Knightfall - Meet the voice cast of the upcoming animated trilogy

Batman: Knightfall Part 1 made its debut at the Annecy International Animation Film Festival. Directed by Jeff Wamester, famous for Guardians of the Galaxy and Avengers Assemble, and written by Jeremy Adams, known for Young Justice and Supernatural, it is being produced by Warner Bros. Home Entertainment, DC, and Warner Bros. Animation.

The trailer of Part 1 has already gained over half a million views within a day of its release. The three-part animated trilogy adapted from popular Batman stories from the comics follows Bane, a strong villain who arrives at the city and carries out his plan of letting many dangerous criminals out of Arkham Asylum. Batman tries to protect Gotham after Bane's arrival but faces a breakdown.

The confirmed voice cast of Batman: Knightfall includes Anson Mount, Pablo Schreiber, Bruce Boxleitner, and Michael Mando.

Who's in the Batman: Knightfall cast?

1) Anson Mount as Batman/Bruce Wayne

American actor Anson Mount, also known as Anson Adams Mount IV, has been cast as the voice of Batman/Bruce Wayne in Batman: Knightfall. His famous projects include Scarpetta, Star Trek: Strange New Worlds, and Star Trek: Discovery. Mount has previously voiced Batman in the animated film Injustice.

2) Michael Mando as Bane

Canadian actor Michael Mando is lending the voice to the villain Bane in the upcoming trilogy. He is a two-time Actor Awards nominee known for his roles in King Ivory, Better Call Saul, and Spider-Man: Homecoming. He will also be seen in the upcoming Spider-Man movie, Spider-Man: Brand New Day as Mac Gargan.

3) Pablo Schreiber as Jean-Paul Valley/Azrael

The Primetime Emmy Awards nominee Pablo Schreiber is lending his voice to Jean-Paul Valley/Azrael in the upcoming trilogy. His other famous works include 13 Hours, Skyscraper, Den of Thieves, and Orange is the New Black.

4) Bruce Boxleitner as Commissioner Gordon

The two-time Western Heritage Award winner and Golden Boot Award winner Bruce Boxleitner is lending his voice to Commissioner Gordon in Batman: Knightfall. His other famous works include Babylon 5, Tron, A Gettysburg Christmas, and Far Haven.

When is Batman: Knightfall releasing?

Batman: Knightfall Part 1 is scheduled for release in 2026. However, the production team has yet to announce a confirmed release date. As for the other two parts, interested viewers will have to wait for official announcements from the makers.

The official synopsis of Part 1 reads:

"When the mysterious behemoth known only as Bane frees Batman’s entire Rogue’s Gallery from Arkham Asylum, the Caped Crusader is pushed to his mental and physical breaking point."

The storyline follows Batman's struggling both physically and mentally as he takes on the challenge to save the city while trying to train Tim Drake and the new Robin and helping Jean-Paul Valley. This also leaves Commissioner Gordon worrying about Batman as he continues to push himself.

Speaking of the trilogy, Peter Girardi, executive VP of Warner Bros. Animation, said at the Annecy International Animation Film Festival that Batman: Knightfall is a very important story in Batman's history. He added that the story is so big that it has been split into three animated films, making it a full trilogy.

Speaking of the first part that premiered at the Annecy Animation Festival, he said that they waited years for the right team so they could tell the story the right way.
