American oceanographer Timothy Gallaudet reportedly claimed UFO reports were being deliberately discredited while speaking with the host of the talk show Hang Out with Sean Hannity. Timothy discussed classified Navy UAP encounters, alleged non-human intelligence cases, and unexplained mysteries reported from the deep ocean. The oceanographer said,
"This has been an 80-year cover-up."
Timothy broke down what he described as an 80-year government effort to conceal information about UAPs. He discussed reports of transmedium vehicles that appeared to move smoothly between the air and the ocean in ways that seemed to challenge current scientific understanding.
The oceanographer also pointed out the claims about recovered non-human craft allegedly hidden in maritime areas and argued that 73% of the ocean floor remained unmapped, which made the deep ocean an ideal spot for unknown intelligence to remain out of sight.

Timothy Gallaudet opened up about the 80-year-long UFO disinformation campaign
In Hang Out with Sean Hannity, when the host asked Timothy whether he had seen the videos recorded by military pilots, especially those who had landed on aircraft carriers, the oceanographer replied,
"Actually, this is a big deal because it's really... I know you had Dan Farah on, too. Yeah. This has been an 80-year cover-up."
Timothy added,
"As you talked about with Dan, this 80-year cover-up that was really exposed in his film, The Age of Disclosure, which I was on, is I just gave a lecture on this recently."
Timothy revealed that an alleged 80-year cover-up was explored in the documentary The Age of Disclosure, and the American film producer and director Dan Farah appeared in the film. The oceanographer said that he had recently given a lecture on the subject and encouraged people to watch the documentary for more context.
According to Timothy, in the years after World War II, the US Air Force received numerous UFO reports from credible sources, including military pilots, scientists, and personnel working at sensitive locations like Los Alamos and nuclear facilities. He said that the Air Force initially treated those reports as serious matters and investigated them carefully.
The retired Navy Intelligence Officer further explained that the situation changed after a major UFO incident over Washington, D.C. in 1952. Later, officials referred to it as a 'flap.' Timothy mentioned that the incident drew significant attention across the government, and officials became unsure about how to interpret what they were seeing. Consequently, the CIA assembled a panel led by a man named Robertson, which later became the Robertson Panel.
Timothy uncovered the secret behind the 80-year-long UFO disinformation campaign
Timothy recalled that when the Cold War started to intensify, the Robertson Panel concluded that the UFO phenomenon was real but didn't appear to pose an immediate military threat. However, he claimed that officials became concerned about the public reaction and started believing that the Soviet Union could exploit fear and hysteria as part of a psychological warfare campaign to create panic. Timothy said,
"We're afraid that the Soviets could use that in a psychological warfare sense and potentially basically amp it up and really create public panic. And so they directed and it developed into an 80-year-long disinformation campaign. And it grew in strength and funding."
Ultimately, Timothy said that the concerns surrounding the Soviet Union led the American government to spread disinformation about UFOs for 80 years. According to him, the Air Force Office of Special Investigations had played a significant role in that campaign, which he said ultimately contributed to the tabloid-style stigma and public ridicule often associated with UFO reports.
