For ARMY, hearing BTS' V (Kim Taehyung) open up about something so personal can feel meaningful and emotional. Especially when it's about an issue he had kept to himself for years.

During his recent Weverse livestream alongside Jung Kook, V shared a health concern that he had never previously discussed with fans. He said (via The Korea Times):

"I've never told ARMY about this before, but I think it's been about two and a half years. My hearing has gotten worse."

The K-pop idol revealed that he has been dealing with a hearing problem for around two and a half years. This means that one of his ears had an issue, due to which it has become weaker than the other.

V never opened up about this issue publicly but finally chose to explain what he has been experiencing and how it has affected him over time. He also mentioned getting medical care for the problem.

Soon after this revelation, fans expressed their support for V, as many felt emotional, and some even blamed their agency for not taking proper care of the singers. The BTS member also talked about how the military service affected his hearing issue.

More details below.

During the Weverse livestream, BTS' V spoke more openly about his hearing than he had ever done with ARMY before. While talking with Jung Kook, he revealed that the problem has been affecting him for approximately two and a half years.

According to V, the difference between his two ears has become quite noticeable, with one side functioning much better than the other. To explain just how different his hearing feels, V used a simple comparison rather than giving a medical measurement. He said that if his hearing in one ear were considered 100, the other would be around 30:

"If one ear is at about 100, I can only hear about 30 with the other."

This was BTS' V's own way of describing the gap between his stronger and weaker ear, rather than an official medical assessment or diagnosis. This revelation is important for ARMY because the singer has endured it for years and didn't share it with fans.

BTS' V also mentioned that the hearing issue got worse during military service. He explained that he didn't pay much attention to the problem. The environment around him played a role in how he viewed the situation. The singer said,

"It got a little worse in the military, and since I was surrounded by people who exercised a lot, everyone said, 'It's a matter of mental strength.'"

V continued:

"After that, I kind of convinced myself that it was a matter of mental strength."

He explained that many of the people around him were focused on exercise and maintaining mental strength. So, he believed that he just needed to be stronger and convinced himself that it's all about mental strength rather than something that needed proper medical attention.

But now, he's taking proper care of his ear, as he said during the livestream that he is "going to the hospital regularly." So, for ARMY, this isn't just a revelation but also a reminder that idols can go through health issues quietly.
