On Thursday, the left-wing online network called The Young Turks released a 30-minute video about Lindsey Graham titled “The CLOSETocracy,” where three men claimed they were paid to have alleged s****l encounters with the late South Carolina Senator.

A Turning Point USA spokesperson, Andrew Kolvet, reacted to the video with the caption:

“Dear Democrats, this is why we called him Lady Graham. This isn’t an October surprise; we’ve known this for years. And blaming his sister for the fact that Lindsey was a poorly closeted gay man is only going to backfire. No one cares.”

The Young Turks co-founder, CEO, and lead host Cenk Uygur responded to Andrew Kolvet’s tweet by writing:

“So, how long have conservative groups like @TPUSA known Lindsey Graham was gay and desperate to keep that hidden? How long did they know he had s*x with underage boys? Did they know about the tapes? Do they have the tapes? If they knew all this, why did they keep it hidden?”

Kolvet directly addressed Uygur in the comment section and wrote:

“Cenk, we all knew about the rumors of Lindsey Graham being gay. I dare you to do a search on this app for ‘Lady Graham.’ Maybe he wasn't! Maybe these male prostitutes are all paid off to lie about a dead man. They do sell themselves for money. Maybe he was just a bachelor, and this is an op.”

Kolvet, who is the executive producer of The Charlie Kirk Show, continued by writing that trying to “implicate” Lindsey Graham’s sister Darline, who is running for the Senate, for her late brother’s “alleged actions” is “pretty scummy behavior.” Andrew claimed he was not a Lindsey Graham fan but supported his “primary challengers” and was hoping that Darline Graham would be able to retain her brother’s seat.

“Also, I think we deserve to know how long you've been sitting on these allegations. If you were worried about foreign influence against Graham, I hope you went to the authorities before you took the time to make a documentary. I hope these male prostitutes have been asked about the tapes. Why do they have them? Who recorded them? Did they give them to any foreign adversaries?” the Nevada native wrote.

More about the Lindsey Graham video amid Andrew Kolvet and Cenk Uygur’s back-and-forth

The 30-minute video is a preview of a larger “bombshell documentary” dropped by Cenk Uygur and The Young Turks on their YouTube channel on Thursday. According to Uygur’s description on X:

“It's about Lindsey Graham's closeted life, hypocrisy and illegal acts, including having s*x with a minor. It's also about national security; some of these s*x acts were taped. Who else has the tapes? And yes, there are others.”

The video, produced by Swampwatch Productions, revealed a man named Kelvin who claimed he was allegedly paid $120 to have s*x with Lindsey Graham when he was 17. The man claimed the late Senator secretly taped their alleged encounter.

Another individual named Jesse made similar claims and asked in the clip:

“Does that make you mad? Does that make America mad? Is that what your elected officials are supposed to be doing? I don’t think so. I think we need to hold elected officials to a higher standard.”

A third man named Cory claimed he was dropped off by a chauffeured car at the Mayflower Hotel in Washington, D.C., where he allegedly had s*x and spent the night with Lindsey in exchange for a stack of cash. Cory claimed it was later during the 2016 presidential race that he realized who Graham was after watching him on television.

Disclaimer: The claims have not been independently verified.

Cory, who also goes by Sean Harding, claimed in a 2020 online post:

“There is a homoph*bic republican senator who is no better than Trump who keeps passing legislation that is damaging to the LGBT and minority communities. This man has hired every s*x worker I know. Wondering if enough of us spoke out if that could get him out of office?”

Mr. Harding further noted the Republican Senator’s initials were “L.G.”

Besides “The CLOSETocracy” video and the 2-hour and 40-minute-long Lindsey Graham documentary, a website called Lindsey Graham Files was also launched on Thursday. It contains purported travel receipts and other documents about Mr. Graham’s personal and professional lives.

A spokesperson for a conservative group told The New York Times that Lindsey Graham was gay, but dismissed the video as an already well-known “open secret” and an attempt to distract voters in South Carolina, where Lindsey’s sister Darline was competing to keep her brother’s place in the Senate.

Former Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene also tweeted:

“The worst kept secret in Washington, D.C., came out today because 3 brave men came out and told the truth, and it doesn’t matter if it is after he’s dead… We all knew Lindsey Graham was gay. Everyone did.”

Despite decades-long speculation, Lindsey Graham dismissed the claim that he was gay. He told the NYT in 2010:

“I know it’s really gonna upset a lot of gay men... but I ain’t available. I ain’t gay. Sorry.”

Earlier, Darline Graham was asked about whether her brother was gay. She told reporters:

“I’m not even gonna entertain that question.”

During his two-decade-long senatorship, Lindsey voted against repealing the “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” policy, which barred openly gay people from serving in the military. He also opposed including gender identity and sexual orientation in the definition of hate crimes as part of an annual defense policy bill provision.

Lindsey Graham succumbed to an aortic dissection in July 2026. He was 71.
