Charlie Cox finally addresses rumors of Daredevil joining Avengers: Secret Wars

Earlier in December 2025, rumors about Charlie Cox's appearance as Daredevil in Avengers: Secret Wars went viral on the internet world, but Marvel didn't give any official confirmation. Yesterday at the MCM Comic Con panel, Charlie confirmed that he will not play his role in Avengers: Secret Wars.

The Marvel star was asked by a fan about whether his character would appear in Avengers: Secret Wars. He then gave a direct answer that he is not going to be a part of the film and assured everyone that they should believe him, as he is not lying.

The actor made his career memorable by playing Daredevil and also impressed audiences after Netflix released his show 11 years ago. Later, he returned as Matt Murdock in Spider-Man: No Way Home to play the role of Peter Parker's lawyer.

His acting in Spider-Man: No Way Home confirmed his place in the MCU, and after a few years, he reprised his role in the revived show Born Again. While these developments had fueled speculation that his character was moving close to becoming part of the film, his recent comments have debunked those rumors.

Charlie Cox addressed rumors of Daredevil joining Avengers: Secret Wars

Yesterday at an MCM Comic Con panel, the star shut down the rumors about his appearance in Avengers: Secret Wars, which went viral earlier back in December 2025. He said,

"No, I'm not going to be in it, no."

Soon after, he apologized,

"And you should believe me now. I'm not a liar."

People have started believing him because his early remarks about not appearing in Spider-Man: Brand New Day came true after the release of the film. Others believed that he might return in the new Spider-Man film because he once played his role in Spider-Man: No Way Home, but it didn't happen.

Cox confirmed his absence from Avengers: Doomsday

Earlier this year in March, the Daredevil actor joined 'Jimmy Kimmel Live!' and there the host asked him directly about his possible return in Avengers: Doomsday. Cox explained that he does not have any confirmed news about appearing in the upcoming film. He added,

"I don't think so. No… as far as I know, I'm not in the Avengers."

According to Yahoo, the filming for the next Avengers installment began last year, with reshoots taking place this year while Cox was waiting for a possible call to join Avengers: Secret Wars. However, he revealed that he is not playing Daredevil in Secret Wars.

Some fans think Cox is just hiding the truth, much like Andrew Garfield did when he denied being in No Way Home. Others believe his statements directly and accept that he may not be involved. Still, many expect Cox's character to eventually appear in one of the upcoming Avengers films.
