Coyote vs. Acme teaser pokes fun at Avengers: Doomsday and confirms Bugs Bunny’s return

The teaser for Coyote vs. Acme has been released, and it not only gives us a glimpse at the upcoming film but also confirms Bugs Bunny's return. Besides, the teaser ends with a hilarious reference to Avengers: Doomsday.

Wile E. Coyote is frustrated with how Acme Corporation products have failed him over the years. In this new live-action animated film, we will see how Wile E. Coyote will sue Acme Corporation with the help of a human lawyer and the legal comedy that will ensue.

Coyote vs. Acme teaser confirms Bugs Bunny’s comeback

Directed by Dave Green, Coyote vs. Acme is based on a 1990 magazine article of the same name by Ian Frazier, which back then also used elements of the Looney Tunes and Merrie Melodies. The Coyote vs. Acme teaser begins with a recording of Wile E. Coyote saying how Acme has

"eyes and ears and eyes and ears everywhere, and they make people disappear."

We see Lana Condor's character, Paige Avery, listening to it and then going to find out more about what Wile E. Coyote has on Acme. As the Loony Tunes and Merrie Melodies series have revealed in the past, no matter what products of Acme Corporation Wile E. Coyote uses to catch Road Runner, it backfires on him instead of catching his nemesis. In the film, Wile E. Coyote will take a stand and fight back against the corporation.

The trailer of the film shows that Wile E. Coyote will be hiring a human lawyer, Kevin Avery (played by Will Forte), to represent him in court against Acme. Kevin will be facing Buddy Crane (played by John Cena) in court, Acme Corporation's lawyer. This will not only lead to drama but also a legal comedy with both live-action and animated characters.

A lot of Looney Tunes characters will be seen in the film, including Miss Prissy, Porky Pig, Daffy Duck, Hippety Hopper, and Tweety, among others. Just before the teaser of Coyote vs. Acme ends, Bugs Bunny's return is confirmed as we see him impersonating Deep Throat from All the President’s Men, as he asks,

"So uh, what is up, doc?"

The end credits also confirm Bugs Bunny's return through a parody of the teasers for Avengers: Doomsday. The credit says,

"Bugs Bunny will return in Coyote vs. Acme"

This is a hilarious take on how Marvel has been announcing the characters who will be returning in Avengers: Doomsday.

The film's cast also includes Tone Bell as Sal Maltese, P. J. Byrne as Bill Pellicano, Martha Kelly as Dottie Jones, Luis Guzmán as Judge Troppogrosso, Eric Bauza as Foghorn Leghorn, Daffy Duck, Porky Pig, and Elmer Fudd, and Jeff Bergman as Bugs Bunny, Dr. Lorre, Sylvester, and Yosemite Sam. Bob Bergen stars as Tweety, and Fred Tatasciore stars as Taz.

Chris DeFaria and James Gunn are the producers of the film. Warner Animation Group, Troll Court Entertainment, and Keylight Pictures are the production companies behind the film.

Coyote vs. Acme will be released in theatres on August 28, 2026.
