The Warner Bros. and Paramount merger is expected to be completed this Tuesday, and David Ellison, CEO of Paramount, has revealed all the franchises and networks that will now be under Skydance. Skydance is the parent company of Paramount that bought the media company in 2025.Now that the merger is close to completion, the newly merged company will be known as Skydance. Under Skydance, there will now be franchises and networks of both the companies.Franchises and Networks under Skydance after Paramount and Warner Bros. mergerIt has been a year since Paramount began trying to merge with Warner Bros. In the process, the media company has had to outbid Netflix and then settle an antitrust lawsuit filed against it by 12 attorneys general and the WGA. The company is merely days from completing the merger, and its CEO, David Ellison, has revealed what's coming. In the caption of an X post, Ellison announced that the new merged company will be called Skydance. His post also included a video that compiled some of the most successful franchises of both companies. The video ended with the revelation of all the networks and franchises that are going to be under Skydance. As the video reveals, the networks that will be under Skydance are Paramount's CBS, MTV, Showtime, Paramount+, Nickelodeon, and Comedy Central, along with Warner Bros.' TNT, CNN, TCM, Adult Swim, DC Studios, HBO/HBO Max, and Cartoon Network. After the merger, the franchises that will be under Skydance are Paramount’s Star Trek, Transformers, A Quiet Place, Mission: Impossible, SpongeBob SquarePants, Dora the Explorer, Avatar: The Last Airbender, and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. These are joined by Warner Bros.’ Gremlins, Beetlejuice, DC Comics, Tom & Jerry, Harry Potter, Citizen Kane, Looney Tunes, The Conjuring, Mortal Kombat, Game of Thrones, and The Lord of the Rings. Warner Bros. does not own the franchises of Dune 3, Minecraft, and MonsterVerse but has the distribution rights to them, and Skydance will now have the same. Citizen Kane is better described as a Warner Bros. library title rather than a franchise, but it will now be a library title under Skydance.Speaking about the merger and the new name of the merged companies, Ellison wrote in the X post:"What once was the peak, is now just the beginning. Paramount and Warner Bros. shaped over a century of culture. By combining them, we aren't rewriting history — we're equipping these iconic studios with a more powerful engine. Together, we are Skydance: a creative-first home for bold, quality storytelling."Ellison then explained that the merged company is being given a collective name to make sure neither loses its individuality and identity. Ellison ended the post by saying that Skydance will honor what makes each media company special. He wrote:"... giving both studios the opportunity to grow, tell more great stories and bring those stories to even broader audiences around the world, powered by the scale and capabilities of Skydance. I couldn’t be more excited about what we’re going to build together."Many industry professionals have been and still are skeptical about the merger and what it would mean for one corporation to hold so much media power. It is yet to be seen if Skydance fulfills all the concessions Ellison agreed to during the antitrust settlement. For now, the history of media is being actively rewritten, and we're most likely about to witness the biggest shift in the industry in decades. For more articles like this, follow Soapcentral.
