Over the last weekend of May, Jay-Z performed at the Roots Picnic 2026 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. During his freestyle performance, he seemingly took a dig at Nicki Minaj, Kanye, and Drake. The lyrics, allegedly directed at the Anaconda rapper, included:“That lady back on that stuff, she sounds like she’s in love with ’em / Her Ken can’t even… pick they kid… enough of them / A rapper can’t be my opp, I got MAGA republicans.”Here, Ken seemingly refers to Nicki Minaj’s husband Kenneth Petty, who is a registered s*x offender. Not only that, but Jay-Z, 56, also threw shade at Nicki’s long-time MAGA affiliations and support for Donald Trump’s election campaigns and administration. In the wake of the mention, a fan of Nicki Minaj named Havoc (@endBasee) took to X and shared an alleged screenshot of the rapper’s Instagram Story. It read:“Imagine being a grown man worried about ONiKA in the year 2026. That’s all imma say. Anyways… next question. Papa Bear can say A-H now.”The user wrote in her caption that it was Nicki’s response to Jay-Z in a deleted IG Story. However, the viral IG story claim is fake. Nicki Minaj has yet to respond to the Roc-A-Fella Records boss’ diss, and she hasn’t posted any such story in real-time. @endBasee is a known parody account and its post is most likely AI-generated and meant to mislead fans.It is noteworthy that the fabricated IG Story isn’t the only fake response circulating online. A user called @Slimediff also posted an 18-second deepfake video of Nicki Minaj on IG Live, alongside an image of Jay-Z. The caption read:“Nicki Minaj went Live on Ig after Jay Z dissed her and her family. She REVEALED that Jay-Z INVITED her to EPSTE*N ISLAND multiple times, but she declined. ‘He tryna speak about my family NOW IM REVEALING REAL TEA.’”This, too, needs to be debunked as there’s no credible source to support that Beyoncé’s husband ever invited the Super Freaky Girl artist to Epstein Island, nor did Minaj make the claim herself. However, last year Nicki accused Jay and Bey of “child sacrifice” amid the Epstein Files release. What did Jay-Z say about Drake and Kanye?Drake, in his latest single, Janice STFU, from his 2026 studio album Iceman, rapped:“We know how you Ogs rockin’ already, my n***a, the jig is up.”It was a direct diss of Jay-Z, whose nickname is Jigga. The Toronto artist used it as a pun on the idiom “the jig is up” which refers to “the deception is over,” according to Genius.com.Drizzy was seemingly referring to all the behind-the-scenes manoeuvring against him in the hip-hop industry and blaming Shawn Carter for orchestrating it. Additionally, the word ‘rockin’ may refer to Jay-Z’s recording label. Now, during his first solo concert in over six years, Jay-Z seemingly responded to Drake by freestyling:“The jig is up, n***a / I’m up 10, wrong chart champ / N***as looked up to Hov, I never looked up to them… Them crackers got your publishing checks, go talk tough to them / Don’t talk success to me, you n****as is workers in perpetuity is how your contract is worded.”Carter was seemingly aiming at Drake failing to make it to the charts in the last two years, ever since his rap feud with Kendrick Lamar and his subsequent legal battle with his label, Universal Music Group, which led to contract disputes and lower net worth. As part of his four-minute freestyle, the billionaire artist and businessman also threw shots at Kanye, who previously claimed Jay and Queen Bey’s younger children, the twins Rumi and Sir, have mental health challenges. In March 2025, the Donda maker tweeted that the power couple kept their kids away from the limelight because:“THEY’RE RETARDED, NO LIKE LITERALLY.”It is noteworthy that after doubling down on his remarks on several occasions, Ye apologized to Jay and Beyonce and wrote he was “feeling bad” about speaking ill of their children. West explained his anger came from having nobody in the industry come to his defence despite him treating them as family. Now, Carter appears to be reminding Ye that it is he who is known for his social media outbursts.“My children is some of them, have you n***as no shame? / Y’all trying to get under skin, I really get under skin / Ask Un how I’m playin / Y’all thoughts with your thumbs again, everybody thinks they’re the ones insane. You’re no maniac/ Watch how he SANE HE ACTS in my presence, n***as SHRINK,” Jay-Z rapped.Meanwhile, according to BET, the reference to Lance “Un” Rivera was a reminder of how HOV stabbed the music executive for talking ill about his family and associates at a NYC nightclub in 1999.Like Nicki Minaj, Drake and Kanye have yet to respond to the NYC rapper.
