“Don Lemon needs a cape”: Netizens praise former CNN host for condemning Laura Loomer over racist comments

American political commentator and former TV journalist Don Lemon called out Laura Loomer for her recent racist tirade against Black female Democrats, including Ketanji Brown Jackson, Cori Bush, Angie Nixon, Ayanna Pressley, and Ilhan Omar.

On his eponymous show, Lemon, 60, said:

“Laura Loomer is a piece of sh*t. There, I said it.”

The former CNN host then quoted Loomer from her recent Loomer Unleashed podcast episode where she called the above-mentioned politicians:

“gh*tto, entitled, race-obsessed, destructive black B*TCHES who are completely unfit for the power they hold.”

Don Lemon noted all the derogatory terms Laura Loomer used to describe Angie Nixon and her fellow Black female liberals, such as “Ebonics,” “Shaniqua,” “bark,” and “tug your leash,” among others. He continued:

“She said we were gonna call her a racist and she said she didn’t care. She said it. So, you know, we call her racist, right? She is… also a POS. Honestly though, look, in Loomer’s defence… if I looked in the mirror and saw that face during backfie, I might be angry too. I probably would be angry too if I had Laura Loomer’s face looking back at the mirror, especially if that was the improvement after the plastic surgery.”

Lemon condemned Loomer for taking Ketanji Brown Jackson’s name in her mouth and calling her “gh*tto,” adding that the Associate Justice of the Supreme Court is a “magna cum laude from Harvard,” while Laura Loomer was a “loonie looner.”

In the wake of Don Lemon’s remarks, netizens are now giving him a shoutout. For instance, Threads user @dangerousones shared Lemon’s clip and wrote in the caption:

“Don Lemon needs a cape. This brutal takedown of Laura Loomer is as satisfying to watch as it is warranted.”

Many joined the conversation and shared similar reactions on X.

“Ate her up. Keep going!!!” a user wrote.

“I love Don Lemon Unleashed,” another user added.

“The only honest thing he’s ever said,” a third individual commented.

Others continued to weigh in.

“He is so right. She is hideous. And she seems to delight in attacking accomplished black women who so outclass her. Poor thing. Loomer will always just be what she is: a hate-mongering troll who so fits her sewer life,” a netizen wrote.

Laura Loomer has yet to respond to Don Lemon.

Exploring further Don Lemon’s latest takedown of Laura Loomer

On The Don Lemon Show, the host recalled how Laura Loomer once said she quit college after everyone around her “challenged her conservative views.” Lemon observed that Loomer then built her public career around “attacking” liberals, Muslims, immigrants, Black and Brown people, Republicans, and called her “insufficiently loyal and sucking up” to Donald Trump.

Don questioned Laura’s “nerve” and “arrogance” to call the accomplished women evil names, but that it was a “reminder” of the success she’d “never have.” He also described the self-proclaimed independent journalist who’s in Trump’s inner circle as a “mediocre, unattractive White woman.”

“It almost rivals the confidence of mediocre White men in this country who somehow walk into rooms believing that they belong there more than anybody else. And that is what is happening here. These women are a constant reminder of Laura Loomer, of what she is not. They are accomplished… educated… respected. They actually earn their way into rooms that she can only get into by being useful,” Don said.

Lemon called Loomer a “useful too/useful idiot” to Donald Trump and compared her “resume” to the women she portrayed in a negative light, saying anyone in Laura’s place would be insecure and embarrassed as well.

Elsewhere, Don Lemon called her a “hateful troll” and said Laura Loomer never became anything more as she was “not good enough/smart enough.” He added:

“Loomer did not accidentally use the racist language. She knew what she was saying… She wanted everybody to understand who she was talking about and exactly how she sees Black women. And this is the woman who has the ear of the President. Donald Trump once said he loves the ‘poorly educated,’ and he loves Laura Loomer. Hmm, that tracks.”

In the same episode of his YouTube show, Don Lemon spoke with Angie Nixon, a Florida Senate hopeful, about Laura Loomer’s latest rant. Nixon reiterated whatever she told Newsweek earlier this week:

“I've been called a dog, which is what she called me. I've been called a monkey, an ape, a gorilla. Dumb, ignorant, stupid. I've been threatened. But that's what happens when you have people like Donald Trump and Ashley Moody that are spewing hateful, harmful rhetoric designed to divide us.”

Before that, Angie clapped back at Laura, reminding her on X:

“Girl. You ate dog food on camera. In the words of @IAMQUEENLATIFAH, ‘Who you calling a b*tch?’”

It was a reference to Loomer promoting pro-MAGA dog food brand Pawsitive by tasting the product herself on live camera in September 2024.

Now, in her recent podcast episode where she aimed to “expose” Angie Nixon and called her “Florida’s communist Senate candidate” before adding she didn’t care if the media portrayed her as a racist, Laura Loomer noted:

“If you campaign with Hasan Piker @hasanthehun, who said America deserved 9/11, and endorse @AngieNixon after she called supporters of resolutions honoring Charlie Kirk ‘tools of white supremacy,’ you have no standing to lecture anyone about offensive language and ‘racism.’”

Laura Loomer further claimed she was “so sick” of watching Republicans “refuse to speak out forcefully” as they are “terrified” of being called racist/ Islamophobic by “gh*tto black and Muslim communist b*tches.” When confronted by Nixon, she further engaged in a heated back-and-forth on X.

Besides Don Lemon, former Georgia Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene denounced Laura Loomer’s remarks:

“I’m not a Democrat and I’m not supporting Angie Nixon, but the Republican Party and President Trump own Laura Loomer and her nonstop vitriol. This hateful, racists, and demeaning rhetoric should not be tolerated. Ever. But they allow it and keep her in the inner circle. Loomer hurts Republican Senator Ashley Moody in her race with these vicious attacks.”

Despite outrage from both conservatives and liberals, Loomer has maintained that she “meant every word I said” about Angie Nixon and other Black female Democrats who for so long had “gotten away with way too much.” She even labelled Greene a “traitor” and doubled down that she was “free” to say whatever she wants.
