The drama over winning prizes may not be over for Donald Trump. After the Nobel Peace Prize drama, Trump is plotting a strategy to win the Pulitzer Prize.

The Irish Star mentioned that the president spoke at T. Ed. Garrison Arena in Pendleton, South Carolina, and said that he was disappointed by the loss of the Nobel Peace Prize. Trump then told the audience that he believed he should also receive a Pulitzer Prize. The president claimed,

"I should have gotten the Pulitzer for writing, too."

Trump added,

"They got a Pulitzer Prize for their accurate and wonderful writing on the subject of Russia, Russia, Russia. But they had it wrong."

The president then returned to the subject of the Nobel Peace Prize and firmly claimed that he should receive it because he had stopped several wars. It seemed that Trump became desperate to win the prizes after all he claimed he had done for the good of society.

Donald Trump claimed the Pulitzer Prize

Donald Trump had reportedly claimed the Pulitzer Prize after he was disappointed in not winning the Nobel Peace Prize. During his speech in Pendleton, South Carolina, he said,

"I didn't get the Nobel Prize. I didn't get the Pulitzer. I should have gotten the Pulitzer for writing, too."

The president added,

"The people that got it shouldn't have gotten it, you know? They got a Pulitzer Prize for their accurate and wonderful writing on the subject of Russia, Russia, Russia. But they had it wrong. They all had it wrong."

Trump explained that the people who received the award should not have received it. He said that they were given a Pulitzer Prize for what was described as accurate and impressive writing about Russia. However, he argued that their reporting was wrong and further stressed that every one of them had made mistakes.

Can Donald Trump win the Pulitzer Prize?

Trump can theoretically win a Pulitzer Prize because the awards are open to any U.S. citizen who can meet the rules for submitting work in journalism, books, drama, or music. However, Trump never won one, and the chance of him receiving the award is very small when judged against the usual standards of the Pulitzer board.

Two years ago, Politico reported that Trump once won an important court decision when a state judge in Florida rejected efforts by the Pulitzer Board to dismiss a libel case he filed in 2022. The lawsuit was connected to reports published by the New York Times and the Washington Post about the 2016 Trump campaign's ties to Russia.

In a 14-page ruling, Senior Judge Robert Pegg rejected the board's claim that giving the national reporting prize to the two newspapers in 2018 was only an expression of opinion and not a statement of fact.

Donald Trump posted Judge Pegg’s ruling on his social media account and said that Pegg had made a strong decision by fully rejecting the Pulitzer Prize Board’s request to dismiss his defamation lawsuit. The lawsuit challenged the Board for giving Pulitzer Prizes to what he called false news reports about the “Russia Hoax” published by The New York Times and The Washington Post.
