President Donald Trump has recently made headlines following his controversial remarks that have drawn public attention. During a rally at Port Huron, Michigan, on Sunday, October 25, 2026, President Donald Trump made comments about Michigan Democratic U.S. Senate nominee Abdul El-Sayed. Trump demanded that El-Sayed pass through a 'metal detector' to enter the Senate.

Harry Sisson, a renowned liberal political commentator and social media influencer, called out Donald Trump's comment on Abdul El-Sayed. Sisson labeled Trump's comment 'disgusting' and 'racist'. He added:

"There's nothing Republicans can say to defend this. It's not like maybe racist or up in the area to have to interpret in a certain way. It's straight up racist. We're in the year 2026. Republicans can't run on public policies or ideas."

Disclaimer: This is Harry Sisson's opinion.

The social media commentator criticized Republicans for relying on controversial remarks instead of focusing on policies and ideas.

President Donald Trump makes controversial remarks on Michigan Democratic Senate nominee Abdul El-Sayed

President Donald Trump made remarks criticized as racist about Michigan Democratic U.S. Senate nominee Abdul El-Sayed at the Sunday afternoon rally in Port Huron, Michigan. He demanded that the Democratic Senate candidate, if elected, go through metal detectors at the Capitol. Trump said that anyone with a history of supporting extremist organizations would face screening, adding:

"They certainly should not give him a seat in the United States Senate. He would be the only senator who would have to go through a metal detector before he is allowed to go into the Senate. I want him to have a metal detector."

Trump's vague remarks on Abdul El-Sayed have been heavily criticized by political commentators.

Abdul El-Sayed has vehemently denied Trump's claims, including the allegations of ties to the extremist organization.

According to CBS News Philadelphia, before departing for the Michigan rally, Trump spoke against El-Sayed. The President's statements are unsubstantiated allegations, and nothing has been proved yet.

Barack Obama campaigned for Abdul El-Sayed in Detroit on Saturday, October 24, 2026. Addressing the crowd at Cass Technical High School, Obama claimed that Abdul is fighting for 'real change'. The former President claimed that the change would 'get money out of politics and put money in your pocket.'

El-Sayed also responded to attacks from the Republican Senate nominee, Mike Rogers, who questioned El-Sayed's loyalty to the United States. According to The Guardian, El-Sayed remarked that, as a child of immigrants, he has witnessed the opportunities in the US and aims to ensure that everyone receives such benefits. El-Sayed also called out Trump, saying, according to The Michigan Daily:

"Donald Trump is the worst symptom of the disease of our politics. The disease allows billionaires and corporations and special interests to buy and sell politics in ways that leave them rigging a system against us."
