President Donald Trump vowed to be a 'political pundit' in his latest post on the Truth Social platform, where he reacted to the 2026 US midterm election results. His remarks come as Republicans faced major setbacks in key races, including Ohio, Kansas, and Texas. Trump wrote on Truth Social,

"I’m going to become a Political Pundit, both good and bad, on the reasons these Candidates won and lost! President DONALD J. TRUMP."

Trump indicated that he will now take on the role of a political commentator, analyzing election results and factors that led to a candidate's victory or defeat. He also claimed to analyze both good and bad strategies.

According to BBC News, the Democrats have managed to win the Senate, taking control of the US Congress for the rest of Donald Trump's presidency.

Donald Trump is in no mood to spare Republicans and Fox News after their devastating loss in the midterm elections. Trump took to Truth Social to mock Greg Abbott, the Governor of Texas, and called him out for being a RINO, which stands for "Republican in name only". He wrote:

"If Greg Abbott, the Governor of Texas, hadn’t become a RINO in the last six months of his Political Life, he wouldn’t have lost. He went back to his original formula, and it wasn’t pretty! President DONALD J. TRUMP."

According to the Associated Press, Greg Abbott lost to Gina Hinojosa, who became the first Democratic governor of Texas in more than 30 years. She became the first elected Democrat governor since 1990. Meanwhile, Democrat James Talarico won the Texas Senate race, defeating Republican Ken Paxton.

Trump also shared an image of a red cap with the word veto written on another Truth Social post. According to BBC News, this might be a reference to his power to block any legislation passed by the Democrat-controlled Congress.

Trump also called out Fox News and asked why former Democratic New York Mayor Bill de Blasio was on the political panel. Trump called de Blasio the worst mayor in New York history. He called out Fox News as he wrote:

"Fox News bears responsibility for these losses by constantly and consistently putting on the Democrat opposition, and worse. GOD BLESS AMERICA!"

Trump also posted that if he were on the ballot, he would secure a landslide victory.
