Ella Langley dominates the 2026 CMA Awards with nine nominations, just one shy of the all-time record

In the 2026 CMA Awards, Ella Langley is one of the most prominent people in the event. This year, she has the highest number of nominations (total 9) and is only a nod behind the record of 10 nominations during a single year.

The nominations for the 60th edition of the CMA Awards were made public on September 10, 2026. Being nominated for the CMA Awards nine times also puts her level with the highest total ever achieved by a female artist in a single year

The overall single-year record is still 10 nominations, set by Alan Jackson in 2002. Langley’s nine nominations put her one shy of that mark, while also tying the record for most nominations by a female artist in a single year, previously held by Miranda Lambert and Lainey Wilson.

Her nominations follow a particularly strong year around her album Dandelion and songs including “Choosin’ Texas” and “Be Her.” The recognition also follows a stellar run at the 2026 ACM Awards where she won all seven awards she was nominated for.

Ella Langley earns nine CMA nods across major categories

Langley's nominations cover some of the most prestigious CMA awards, starting with the Entertainer of the Year award. This nomination marks her first time in this coveted category, where she will be up against Luke Combs, Cody Johnson, Chris Stapleton, and reigning champion Lainey Wilson.

Moreover, she has also received a nomination for Female Vocalist of the Year, marking yet another important milestone in her career. Another achievement to her name is the Album of the Year nomination for her album Dandelion.

The album nomination also showcases the collective efforts of those involved in the making of Langley’s album. Producers of the album include Devin Dawson, Langley, Miranda Lambert, and Ben West, while the mixing of the album was done by Dave Clauss.

Langley’s songs have also made it to the nominations list. Both of her singles "Be Her" and "Choosin' Texas" received a nomination for the Single of the Year award, which is an unusual accomplishment.

The two songs are also competing separately for Song of the Year. "Be Her" was written by Smith Ahnquist, Michael Hardy, Langley, and Jordan Schmidt, while "Choosin' Texas" was co-written by Luke Dick, Langley, Miranda Lambert, and Joybeth Taylor.

Her ninth nomination comes in Musical Event of the Year for "I Can't Love You Anymore," her collaboration with Morgan Wallen. Austin Goodloe, Langley, and Ben West are credited as producers on the track.

"Choosin’ Texas" helps push Ella Langley toward CMA history

"Choosin’ Texas" is at the heart of Ella Langley’s impressive CMA Awards run, earning nominations for Single of the Year, Song of the Year, and Music Video of the Year. It is the only song this year recognized in all three categories. Langley also shares the music video directing credit with Caylee Robillard and Wales Toney.

The song has been a commercial hit by staying at the top of the Billboard Hot 100 chart for 21 weeks, which is a record run for a non-holiday song. The song’s success contributed to Ella Langley’s popularity and filled her trophy case with 9 nominations.

The 60th CMA Awards are scheduled for Wednesday, November 18, 2026, at Bridgestone Arena in Nashville. Music enthusiasts who wish to enjoy the event from home can tune in to ABC and Disney+ from 8 to 11 p.m. ET. The very next day, it will also arrive on Hulu.
