Fans theorize a darker end for Avengers: Doomsday thanks to the new rumor Lana Del Rey is composing a song for the final credits

As Avengers: Doomsday is just two months away, several rumors about the upcoming Marvel Cinematic Universe epic continue to spread online. The latest rumor has to do with the closing credits, but not the post-credit scenes. This rumor suggests that Lana Del Rey is singing the song that will play during the credits of Doomsday.

However, this story should be taken as a rumor, and we will learn more only in two months as we are seated in the seats. While this Lana Del Rey rumor might be fake, Doomsday no doubt could have a dark ending. Like Avengers: Infinity War, the upcoming MCU epic could have a cliffhanger ending that would set up next year's Avengers: Secret Wars.

The Lana Del Rey rumor has fans convinced that Avengers: Doomsday would have a dark ending:

X account @PopTingz posted a rumor saying that the singer known for her melancholic songs is providing her vocals for the credits song. Her association with melancholic songs is why fans think that Avengers: Doomsday will end on a darker note. One fan seemed excited to hear her vocals as Wanda Maximoff returns.

Another fan said that viewers will be even more emotionally devastated in the theater as the rumored song plays:

"Lana Del Rey playing while the Avengers lose everything might actually emotionally destroy the theater 😭"

Another fan was more cynical about the supposed sad ending of Doomsday, saying that it was fine if Avengers: Doomsday killed off some characters, stating that Marvel will resurrect them anyway:

Another fan pointed out that the first The Avengers movie from 2012 had a song in its credits called "Live to Rise":

Therefore, it seems that the internet is currently taking this rumor with a grain of salt. They are fine with the singer lending her vocals to the credit song. But one point stands out.

Will Doomsday end with Victor von Doom winning?

The marketing campaign has been hinting at a cliffhanger ending in which the villain wins the day. Much like Avengers: Infinity War, Doomsday could end with Doom getting his way. The D23 Expo trailer revealed that Victor von Doom lost everything.

Leaks have suggested that Doom loses his family to an incursion in the movie. Thus, much like Thanos in Infinity War, we will be given a sympathetic villain.

Doomsday, which has been described as the beginning of the end of Marvel's Multiverse Saga, could end with Doom rewriting reality to his liking by creating the Battleworld. Except for a small band of survivors, everyone would probably forget the Marvel Multiverse from before Battleworld.

Leaks have suggested that Doom would rewrite reality in a way where he is married to Sue Storm. This is something that happened in the 2015 Secret Wars event, a storyline the Russo Brothers expressed a desire to adapt in the past. Thus, it wouldn't be surprising if the director duo would adapt the 2015 comic for the upcoming two Avengers movies.
