This December's Avengers: Doomsday continues to be one of the most anticipated projects of this year. However, the upcoming Avengers movie is just the beginning of the end of Marvel's Multiverse Saga. Much like Infinity War, many believe that the upcoming Avengers movie will end with Doom winning. Thus, many believe that some MCU characters might "die" this December.

Therefore, not many fans are sure which characters are returning for Secret Wars next year. We know Chris Evans is in Avengers: Secret Wars, and now we know Anthony Mackie is in it too. Mackie himself confirmed that he will work on the follow-up to Avengers: Doomsday after wrapping up Macbeth on Broadway in a Deadline interview:

"So once I finish on Broadway, I’ll go to finish up all the Avengers stuff for Secret Wars."

Several leaks have suggested that this year's Avengers movie is going to end with Victor von Doom winning. However, it is unclear if we will see some characters vanish as they did in Avengers: Infinity War. Some leaks have even suggested that Doomsday could end with Doom creating the Battleworld, a reality which is a blend of three separate universes.

Every character inhabiting the Battleworld would forget their lives before Doom rewrites reality. Therefore, unlike Avengers: Infinity War, the upcoming MCU movie might not have any deaths, but it could still end in tragedy.

Next year's Avengers: Secret Wars could follow a small band of survivors trying to overthrow Doom.
