Fox News senior meteorologist Janice Dean bid an emotional farewell to 1998 chat show Fox & Friends after working for 22 years. The Sun reported her statement.

"I have shared a lot on TV in 22 years, maybe too much sometimes."

Janice shared about her career, personal life on air, and her future decision to spend time with her family. She further gave a heartbreaking reason behind her retirement from her show and explained that her health issue related to multiple sclerosis has progressed. According to The Sun, she stated:

"My symptoms progressed to the point that I can no longer continue working in my role, and my doctors agreed and said stepping away was necessary for my health."

As a result, the situation has become challenging for her to manage all her live broadcasting work. In 2005, she was diagnosed with this autoimmune disease.

Dean further shared about how she spent time with viewers while on TV. She recalled a moment when she once announced her engagement and even showed Steve Doocy her ring. Later, she revealed her pregnancies and celebrated the arrival of her two sons.

Janice opened up about her multiple sclerosis issues and said that it was diagnosed two decades ago. She further shared the painful loss of her in-laws during the Covid-19 pandemic. Dean continued to share her deep feelings about leaving the chat show. Yahoo reported her statement.

"Turning the page on this chapter has been really heavy, but maybe the page will get lighter after this, so thank you."

Dean further explained that many people rarely mention it, but leaving a long-term job or career often brings a period of grief. Dean called the crew her "second family" and said that sharing this farewell on air would help her work through that grieving stage.

Janice Dean stayed active on social media after announcing her exit from the chat show. She said that she will give daily or weekly updates about her favorite books, hobbies, foods, and other interests to stay connected to the viewers.

Last month, a Fox News Media spokesperson told The Sun that Janice has inspired viewers with her warmth, resilience, and dedication.
