Vincent Pastore

Vincent Pastore died of natural causes in his sleep at the age of 80 on August 1, 2026. He was best known for playing mobsters and tough guys. His most celebrated role was in The Sopranos, where he portrayed the character of Tony Soprano's loyal friend and enforcer who later became an FBI informant. He has been described by his colleagues as loyal, charitable, and “one of the kindest, most generous people.”

According to a report in TMZ, sources told the outlet that Pastore was not feeling his best two weeks prior to his death. However, the doctors could not find any abnormalities. Besides The Sopranos, his other credits included the 2005 film Revolver, Goodfellas, Carlito's Way, and Gotti.

Christy Knowings

Former All That star Christy Knowings died at age 46 on August 11. The cause of her death was reported as cardiac arrest and severe brain damage which stemmed from complications of a severe asthma attack. She was reportedly placed on life support in Los Angeles. Her family made the difficult decision to remove her from life support when she showed no signs of recovery.

Her aunt, Tyleah Joseph described Knowings as “a multi-talented lady” who was always professional and dedicated to her job.

Shelley Fabares

Shelley Fabares died from a brief illness on August 22 in Los Angeles. She was 82. Although her family shared that she died peacefully with her close ones by her side, they did not disclose the medical details showing the cause of her death.

She previously had a liver transplant in October 2000 after battling autoimmune hepatitis, but there was no confirmation that her past health issues led to her final illness. Fabares became a household name during the late 1950s when she starred as Mary Stone on The Donna Reed Show and earned two Emmy nominations on Coach. She starred as the leading lady opposite Elvis Presley in three movies: Girl Happy, Spinout and Clambake.

Tim Curry

Tim Curry, the legendary actor and star of The Rocky Horror Picture Show passed away on August 25 at the age of 80, at his Los Angeles home. He has been dealing with long-term health complications after suffering a major stroke in 2012. It reportedly left the actor partially paralyzed and using a wheelchair. But, as per a report in USA Today, no cause of death was officially announced.

After completing their investigation, the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) reported that no foul play was suspected. His famous roles were Dr Frank-N-Furter in the musical film The Rocky Horror Picture Show. He also played Robert Graves in the 1978 psychological horror film, The Shout. He also portrayed the role of Mr Hector at the suspicious Plaza Hotel in the 1992 comedy Home Alone 2.

Hayden Panettiere

Hayden Panettiere died on August 16 in Greenville, South Carolina. She was 36 years old. According to the reports, the Heroes star was found "unresponsive" and in cardiac arrest at her residence by emergency medical services after they responded to a 911 call. Her official cause of death remains pending. Local police stated there are no signs of foul play.

Panettiere was widely known for starring as Claire Bennet in the TV show Heroes and as Juliette Barnes in Nashville. Following her death, former Heroes costars reunited to celebrate Panettiere’s life and shared emotional tributes. She played the character of Claire Bennet in the series. Her father, Skip Panettiere noted that his daughter was as “incredible light and a force of nature who brought immeasurable love and joy to all who knew her.”

Dolly Parton

Dolly Parton died on August 25 at the age of 80 after a brief battle with cancer. TMZ reported that the country music singer was hospitalized on August 21 for kidney and autoimmune issues.
