Natasha Lyonne has drawn attention online with a reply to a clip of JD Vance’s rally. In a quote post on X on October 20, 2026, she wrote,

"Don’t really know how we arrived at this aesthetic as baseline normal, but c’est la dominoes, etc. Octavia Butler was a soothsayer. Grimey times (sic)."

The video she quoted showed a man calling for the release of the Epstein files. USA Today reported on October 20, 2026, that the rally took place in Hendersonville, North Carolina, on October 19.

More about Natasha Lyonne’s comment

A man was escorted away from the Hendersonville rally after shouting about the Epstein files, USA Today reported. JD Vance answered with a quip about illegal border crossings. The paper did not quote the remark. Lyonne’s post also said she does not know how the current aesthetic became baseline normal. It called the late science fiction author Octavia Butler a soothsayer.

USA Today noted that Natasha Lyonne’s posts come months after reports about a Delta flight. Page Six reported that around April 7 she boarded a red-eye to New York City. She was allegedly escorted off for failing to follow instructions, including closing her laptop and fastening her seat belt before takeoff.

Addressing the incident later, she said ICE had detained her during the alleged incident. She described boarding with a backpack and sneakers, hoping for a nap before a scheduled glam session. She called it a sign of the times, USA Today reported.

Natasha Lyonne’s emoji reply to Trump’s Musk post

Natasha Lyonne quote-posted a message from Donald Trump about Elon Musk, Just Jared reported. Trump thanked Musk for giving SpaceX stock to millions of American children through Trump Accounts.

He wrote that the accounts bring the private sector together to invest in children, whom he called the country’s most important asset. Musk had announced a plan to give one share to every child in the United States, USA Today said.

Lyonne replied with four emojis. They were a rocket, a saluting face, a sun, and a smiling face wearing sunglasses, USA Today reported.

The White House says every U.S. citizen under 18 with a valid Social Security number now has a Trump Account, according to USA Today. A parent or guardian can claim it through the Trump Accounts app. Individuals, companies, and local governments can contribute up to a combined $5,000 a year.

Just Jared said it was unclear what the emojis meant. It noted that Natasha Lyonne endorsed Kamala Harris in 2024 and has spoken out against many Trump administration policies. In a later post on October 20, she said that she was "not MAGA."

At the time of press, there is no further statement from the actress explaining her latest Twitter posts.
