Hayden Panettiere and her drug supplier exchanged many text messages over several years, and their conversation continued until the week she passed away. Currently, the DEA is closely examining this series of conversations as potential evidence. A source revealed to TMZ,

"There are a slew of messages about drugs."

Investigators with direct knowledge of the case said that Panettiere and her supplier clearly discussed purchasing illegal pills in their text messages. According to the New York Post, special narcotics prosecutor Bridget G. Brennan stated:

"Unless you’re getting a prescription, you know, something ordered by a doctor, if you’re buying anything online, on the street, in pill form, you have absolutely no idea of what you are getting."

The DEA believed that Panettiere died after taking an oxycodone pill. The pill was believed to have been mixed with fentanyl. They said that before the day of her death, she carried several pills in her bag while on a flight from Los Angeles to South Carolina. Investigators also revealed that her boyfriend handed police a bag of her medications contaminated with dangerous drugs.

Hayden Panettiere updates: West Hollywood neighbors reported seeing a bag exchange

Neighbors in West Hollywood also reported witnessing three suspicious visitors come to Hayden's apartment over the years. They often arrived alone with a small bag. Hayden always opened the door to take the bag, and then the person left the place.

Hayden Panettiere's representative said that the investigation is still going on and law enforcement has not yet revealed who they are focusing on. However, the case is described as complicated, with hopes for more clarity soon.

Zach Hickerson, the brother of Brian Hickerson, told police that his brother tried to revive Hayden by giving her CPR. Investigation reports also revealed that she used to consume Narcan.

Days after Hayden's death, Brian was handcuffed by police after shouting about his girlfriend's death during a reported bar fight in Greenville. Officers released him at the scene and did not file charges.
