Hayden Panettiere took shocking steps to keep Brian Hickerson away before her death

After Hayden Panettiere’s tragic death on August 16, further details surrounding her death have been unveiled. On August 16, a 911 call came from the residence where Panettiere was “temporarily staying”. Soon after the first responders arrived at the location, they found Panettiere “unresponsive,” which caused them to begin the “cardiac life support measures”.

However, despite the “resuscitation efforts”, Panettiere, who recently began her tour, was pronounced dead. It is now reported that to keep Brian Hickerson, Panettiere’s former boyfriend, away from her, Panettiere took on several measures, and here are the details.

When Hayden Panettiere began her book tour for her memoir, This Is Me: A Reckoning, she delved deeply into the struggles she went through involving her relationship. While speaking about her dynamic with Brian Hickerson in a previous podcast, Panettiere reportedly added that she “needed an incredible amount of support” along with “backup” to “make sure that there was no way for him to find his way back in”.

In her memoir, Panettiere reveals the violence she faced because of Hickerson. Hickerson’s violent actions even caused him to get arrested multiple times. During the book events, Panettiere always had security with her, which she had hired, and gave them strict instructions regarding keeping Brian Hickerson away.

Brian Hickerson’s lawyers gave a statement regarding Hayden Panettiere’s death, noting that Hayden’s death “remains under investigation”. The lawyers also pointed out that the “police” confirmed that there “were no signs of foul play”. Panettiere’s mother, Lesley Vogel, while speaking about her daughter in an interview, pointed out that Panettiere was “in pain” and was also "afraid".

Panettiere, in a previous statement to PEOPLE, revealed that he hoped her story “will empower others in abusive relationships” so that they can get the “help they need and deserve”. She also added in the statement that she is “prepared” to do her part “to make sure” Hickerson is not able to “hurt anyone again”.

On July 20, Hickerson had filed a petition so that the conviction could be expunged; however, the court records reportedly reveal that prosecutors were against the petition during the hearing on August 13, just three days before Panettiere’s tragic death. However, the hearing was reportedly not attended by Hickerson.
