Charleston White has been booked into Broward County jail in Florida on a misdemeanor Touch or Strike/Battery charge after his arrest by Hollywood police on September 12. This follows his release from a Texas prison months ago. The jail record lists the case as pending trial with bond at $0.

White, 49, is an online content creator and a comedian known for sharing his past experiences with the criminal justice system. He offers blunt and often controversial commentary on hip-hop culture, politics and social issues.

A judge is expected to review the matter and determine whether to set a bond. Details of the alleged battery incident have not been disclosed. He has been arrested at least four times as an adult in addition to a juvenile detention case at age 14.

White’s Florida arrest comes after his 2023 booking and a separate 2024 arrest in Texas for animal cruelty and two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, respectively.

Charleston White’s arrest history explored

Charleston White, whose legal name is Charleston Jomone White, has been arrested at least four times as an adult and once in his teens.

The first time the comedian was put behind bars was when he was 14. He was reportedly arrested and charged with murder linked to a robbery at a Foot Locker in Texas. During the incident, an accomplice fatally shot someone.

He was adjudicated for murder and spent roughly seven to eight years in the Texas Youth Commission system and was released around 1998. White was 21 at that time.

On December 18, 2023, Charleston White was arrested on one count of animal cruelty and two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. The case stemmed from an incident where White allegedly used pepper spray on a cat.

The charges led to bookings in Tarrant County, Texas. He reportedly denied animal cruelty allegations and claimed that they were “made up” or “trumped up.” He stated that the cat situation was part of a comedy skit.

According to a Fort Worth Star-Telegram report, Charleston White was later released on bond. His bond for each of the two aggravated assault counts was set at $15,000 and the bond in the animal cruelty case was set at $1,000. This brought the total amount to $31,000.

In February 2025, he was arrested in the Fort Worth area on two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. He was initially jailed without bond but was released later stating that the charges against him were dropped.

According to Collin County records, as reported by Urban Magazine, in August 2026, Charleston White was arrested on three misdemeanour charges of unlawful carrying of a weapon, possession of marijuana and driving without a valid license in Collin County, Texas. Reported bond amounts were $5,000 for the weapon charge and $3,000 for the marijuana charge.

This takes us to White’s recent arrest in September by the Hollywood Police Department, where he was booked into the Broward County Jail. According to the reports, he allegedly assaulted and robbed a woman named Kay Pretty. She shared a post on her Instagram narrating the incident and wrote:

“Ive stayed quiet long enough. Today 12th of September, 2026 Charleston White woke me up after he already beat me up the night before with a punch to the face calling me a b*t**, saying I’m worthless and trying to throw me out of the house that we stay together at.”

The woman further accused Charleston White of abusing her “physically, mentally, emotionally, financially, and spiritually.” She also alleged that he stole her money, jewellery, clothes and her bags. In her concluding message, she says:

“He has disrespected me for the last time and I won’t stand for it anymore. I hope he gets what he deserves and rots in jail.”

White is scheduled to perform at the Off the Hook Comedy Club in Naples on September 16, 2026. However, his recent arrest has created uncertainty.
