Steve Martin and Martin Short have joined the long list of celebrities who honored Catherine O’Hara. The comedians paid tribute to the late actress during their recent comedy show, The Best of Steve Martin and Martin Short. On Friday night, Steve Martin and Martin Short performed in Austin, Texas and took a moment to praise their friend, popular actress Catherine O’Hara, who passed away after a short illness.

Martin said:

“Catherine O’Hara, I met when she was 18 years of age. And all these years later, she had been the greatest, most brilliant, kindest, sweetest angel that any of us worked with.”

They then clinked their glasses.

Catherine and Martin Short worked together at Second City improv theater in the 1970s, and later on Second City Television. They also co-starred in animated movies, The Addams Family and Frankenweenie. The actress and Steve Martin worked together on Lorne Michaels’ The New Show and co-starred in the 1994 comedy-drama film A Simple Twist of Fate.

Popular American actress and comedian Catherine O’Hara, known for roles in films such as Beetlejuice and Home Alone, has died. Her death was confirmed on Friday. Following her passing, several celebrities paid tribute to her.

Michael McKean tweeted:
