Tyler Reddick has responded to the backlash surrounding Michael Jordan's interaction with his 6-year-old son. Reddick, who won the NASCAR Daytona 500 championship this year, commented on the matter in a video appearance on Stephen A. Smith's SiriusXM show:

"From my perspective, I've gotten to know Michael and his family very well over the years I've been with 23XI and um, you know I don't see what other people see when it comes to this. You know, for me, it's a huge moment. You know, this is the biggest moment of my career. Its a huge moment for my family."

The racer continued:

"And for his family. I just I put that off to the side and just think about how I think about the look on [Michael Jordan’s wife's] face and the whole family when they got to they got to victory lane too, and just how happy everybody was celebrating together. So, that’s where I’m at with it."

To recap, Michael Jordan was caught live touching the legs and hip of Tyler Reddick's son live on air, which sparked concerns of potential child abuse and inappropriate behaviour on the part of Jordan from netizens online. Some netizens went so far as to wonder if Jordan was named in the Epstein files.

Jordan is in the Epstein files, but only tangentially, and there is no indication that he was involved in the nefarious incidents surrounding Epstein. His name comes up alongside the likes of Sachin Tendulkar, Lionel Messi, golf legend Tiger Woods and OJ Simpson.

Michael Jordan himself is yet to react to the allegations surrounding his behaviour with Tyler Reddick's son as of the writing of this article. Reddick's response to Jordan's behaviour with his son has not stopped the allegations against Jordan.

Netizens seemed to be split evenly on the matter, with some defending Jordan and using Reddick's reaction to do so, while others are now questioning Reddick's response as well as Jordan's behaviour itself:

More on Tyler Reddick's career with 23XI

Tyler Reddick started racing for Michael Jordan's 23XI team in 2023, with the team buying out his contract that year to replace Kurt Busch.

Reddick has been a consistent performer, earning the 6th spot on points in the 2023 season for the team. In 2024, he won the regular season championship, and then in 2025, he was the runner-up at the Daytona 500.

Reddick won the Daytona 500 championship in the 2026 season, and Michael Jordan celebrated the moment, saying in a press statement that he was ecstatic and gratified by Reddick's win:

"I can’t even believe it. It was so gratifying. You never know how these races are going to end. You just try to survive. We hung in there all day. Great strategy by the team, and we gave ourselves a chance at the end. Look, I’m ecstatic."

Michael Jordan co-owns the 23XI NASCAR team alongside Denny Hamlin. The team was first raced in 2021, after rumors of a race team being formed by the duo came out in 2020, and was later confirmed.

The team currently has three full-time drivers: Tyler Reddick, Bubba Wallace, and Riley Herbst. The team also has a part-time racer in Corey Heim. 23XI fields Toyotas through their technical alliance with Joe Gibbs Racing.
