Rapper and producer Lil Jon has shared a heartfelt tribute following the loss of his 27-year-old son, Nathan Murray Smith.Jon confirmed his death in a statement shared on February 6 on Instagram. Most recently he posted an emotional tribute for his son revealing that Nathan was laid to rest on the first day of Ramadan. According to People magazine, the Cherokee County Fire Department located and recovered his body from a pond in Mayfield Park near his residence on February 6. He studied at NYU Tisch School of the Arts' Clive Davis Institute of Recorded Music.He was born in 1998 when his parents were in their dating phase before their 2004 marriage. He was their only child together. The couple announced their separation in 2024. Jon is also a father to a daughter named Nahara, whom he welcomed with his girlfriend, Jamila Sozahdah, in 2024.Nathan spoke positively about his father in a resurfaced interview from March 2025 with the nonprofit organization 360 Baseline.
