Marvel Studios executive Kevin Feige has reportedly announced at Disney's D23 event about the debut of Inde Navarrette as the mutant Rogue in the upcoming X-Men movie. However, rumors are circulating online that Navarrette could join the cast of Avengers: Secret Wars because Feige has previously teased that the film will act as a fresh start for the franchise. Therefore, introducing new characters like the new X-Men might be true.

According to Variety, Feige has also planned to include Sadie Sink, Kit Connor, and Samara Weaving in the mutant team. The Marvel Studios president said,

"Avengers: Endgame was truly an end, and since then, we've tried and experimented with many new things. But Secret Wars is a beginning."

Feige further mentioned that the movie will build one clear and simple universe that fans can follow without confusion, where certain elements will feel familiar while several other elements will appear completely new.

The executive producer has clarified that Avengers: Secret Wars will act as a soft reboot and reset the MCU into one timeline. In the comics, the Secret Wars storyline merges different realities into a single world.

Feige hinted at a clear and simplified universe after Avengers: Secret Wars, a major push to introduce the new X-Men and long-term plans to eventually bring a live-action Miles Morales to the screen. He explained,

"We want to do two things. First, to bring some storylines to a close, those that started long before Iron Man, including the original X-Men characters. Second, to simultaneously set the stage for the future."

The executive meant that Marvel aimed to close older arcs such as the original X-Men while also preparing the MCU for new stories. Secret Wars was designed to close old stories and introduce new heroes and make the universe feel complete while still open for future growth.

Secret Wars acts as the grand finale of the Multiverse Saga and functions as the reset point for the franchise. At D23 Expo 2026, Fiege brought Sadie Sink on stage to introduce her as a part of the core team for the upcoming X-Men reboot.

Since Sadie, Kit, and Samara are already confirmed for the upcoming movie, fans may also expect Inde Navarrette to appear as Rogue in Secret Wars because X-Men characters are set to join the final installment of the Avengers series. Thus, it supports the rumor that Inde Navarrette and other members of the new mutant team will also debut to establish the MCU's next era.
