A viral rumor circulating online claims that Blake Shelton has declined to do shows with fellow artist Jelly Roll. Over the weekend, the Facebook page America’s Last Line of Defense (ALLOD) shared an image of both singers with the text inside reading:“Blake Shelton Cancels Four Shows with Jelly Roll: ‘My Fans Have Spoken.’”The caption further stated:“Blake has always stayed out of politics, but this isn't even about that. Jelly ruined his career and country fans don't want to see him anymore. That's the bottom line.”The claim is fake, as can be confirmed by the expression, “Nothing on this page is real”, written in the bottom-left corner of the viral image. The same phrase appears in the page’s bio and also adds:“The flagship of the ALLOD network of certified trollery and propaganda for cash.”Additionally, the ALLOD page is affiliated with the Dunning-Kruger-Times satire/parody website, run by self-proclaimed patriot Flagg Eagleton.Jelly Roll and Blake Shelton have previously been part of the same projectsRock the Country Tour kicked off in Bellville, Texas, on May 1 and is set to conclude in Hamburg, New York, on September 12. Both Jelly Roll and Blake Shelton have been part of the tour. However, they performed on different dates and at different locations as part of the rotating lineup.According to an April article by The Rolling Stone, Jelly Roll later dropped out of the June 28 show in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, for undisclosed reasons, and Staind took his place.However, all of Roll’s remaining shows, including in Bloomingdale, Georgia, and Ashland, Kentucky, were a go.Blake Shelton and Jelly Roll were also part of an October 2023 tribute to the country music legends The Judds and contributed to the 14-track album, A Tribute to the Judds. While Shelton joined his wife Gwen Stefani for a rendition of Love is Alive, Roll collaborated with K. Michelle and The Fisk Jubilee Singers for the song Love Can Build a Bridge.Around the same time, Craig Morgan released an extended play called Enlisted and brought in Jelly and Blake for collaborations, although on different songs. Morgan told Music Mayhem magazine in an interview:“We just started thinking about hits and people that I would call to sing those songs with me, and I wanted those songs in some way to have a relationship or impact with the person that I’m bringing on board… For example, ‘Almost Home.’ Anybody that’s watched anything in country music has seen Jelly Roll on the stage of the Grand Ole Opry talking about that song and what it meant to him, so that was kind of a no-brainer.”Jelly told his Grand Ole Opry audience:“This song is full circle for me. It’s about situations you are sometimes in that you just mentally want to be somewhere else. ‘Almost Home’ is something that I listened to in jail. Me and my cellmates could really relate to it. He continued:“I’m sure there were tears in my eyes. I was just so touched by his story, and I immediately got on the phone and called management and I said, ‘Get me a phone number for this Jelly Roll guy [and] I want to meet him. I want to tell him thank you.’ He was thanking me, but I don’t think he realized how much impact he had on me, and that’s what started our friendship.”Craig Morgan also shared similar sentiments of gratitude for Blake Shelton, who featured on the song, Redneck Yacht Club.Both Roll and Shelton are also signed with the same record label, BBR Music Group.While Blake and his wife are mourning the death of their dog, Betty, after spending 18 years together, Jelly Roll has been facing mixed reactions from fans for appearing on Jimmy Kimmel Live! as a guest host in late August.
