Is Maduka Okoye married? Relationship explored as Nigerian footballer sparks Cardi B dating rumors

German-born Nigerian goalkeeper Maduka Okoye has sparked dating rumor with New York City rapper Cardi B after they were spotted seated together and chatting up at the ongoing Paris Fashion Week.

While neither of them has confirmed a romantic relationship brewing, fans of both are showing their excitement online.

Maduka Okoye has never been married. However, he had been in an on-and-off relationship with Dutch model and content creator Jelicia Westhoff for years and shares a son with her. Their current status remains undisclosed.

Meanwhile, Cardi B was married to fellow rapper-songwriter Offset between 2017 and 2024. They share a son and two daughters. However, her last relationship was with NFL star Stefon Diggs, which ended in February this year after almost 16 months. Stefon and Cardi welcomed their son last November.

All we know about Maduka Okoye’s personal life

In late 2021, following Nigeria’s disappointing exit at the Africa Cup of Nations after losing 1-0 to Tunisia, Jelicia Westhoff appeared online to support Maduka Okoye. Back then, she captioned their picture:

“Whatever our souls are made of, his and mine are the same.”

In a follow-up post, the Amsterdam-based woman continued:

“We are proud of you, not just when you win, or when you stop a ball, but because of the person you are from the inside. I'm proud of your efforts, your Focus, your drive, and how you never give up. You helped the team… and made a Big mark while there… You deserve to be celebrated for making it this far. Forever proud, I love you.”

Okoye has never been high on PDA and maintained a low profile. However, he never denied the relationship.

Throughout 2022, rumors continued to circulate online that Maduka Okoye and Jelicia Westhoff were in an on-again, off-again relationship, as they often unfollowed each other on social media.

In December, Jelicia shut down the rumors by posting a picture of herself with Maduka, only to take it down a few days later, along with her other pictures with the footballer. Back then, she also uploaded a viral post which was captioned:

“I'm not for everybody and that’s how I like to be.”

This further fuelled the breakup rumors.

Less than a week later, Jelicia Westhoff reappeared with a series of Instagram Stories where she and Maduka Okoye were all cozied up.

Several sports outlets, including Pulse Sports NG, reported that the couple was back together and was even following each other on Instagram. Westhoff also updated her IG bio to “Mother and Wife.” However, there was never an official confirmation that the pair tied the knot.

But by then, they had welcomed their son, Isaiah Emil/ Amiel Okoye, also Emiliano Isiah Okoye.

For a year, things appeared civil between the two. However, in 2024, Jelicia Westhoff accused the father of her child of domestic abuse and infidelity. She wrote on her Instagram Stories:

“Let’s show the world who you really are. A woman abuser, a liar, a cheater, and the worst father.”

Despite the viral allegations, the pair seemed to have reconciled. In April 2025, the model-influencer wrote, “I am done with you,” sparking another breakup rumor. But just hours later, she returned with an apology.

“I should never have allowed someone to bring me out of character. But I take today as a learning curve to never allow this to happen again,” she wrote.

Westhoff added alongside a picture of her, Okoye, and their son:

Once again, it is noteworthy that, like all other previous times, this time too Maduka Okoye maintained his silence on his personal life.
