Famous streamer IShowSpeed has reportedly offered a $10,000 prize to those who could lift a mysterious cube, organized at different places. The metal cube weighed around 45 pounds, which made it harder to grip compared to a regular weight. Many people attempted to lift it but failed. However, the challenge quickly turned into a surprising moment after a male participant managed to lift a heavy 20 kg cube in less than 5 minutes.
The YouTuber, driving with his brother Jamal, a cameraman, and a bodyguard, stopped at a fuel refilling station and started the challenge with people nearby. They advertised the challenge with a message saying, "Lift this cube, win 10K". The setup looked like a competition and a social experiment where people stopped to see if they could attempt the unusual task.

IShowSpeed viral lifting challenge
The challenge created by IShowSpeed ended quickly when one participant stepped forward and lifted the cube easily and successfully. The participant gripped the cube with one hand, lifted it cleanly from its spot, then turned his palm underneath as it rose and pulled the block toward his torso. There was no wobble and no slip, and the attempt was successful.
Speed looked shocked by what he saw and screamed with excitement.
"Oh. Oh my gosh. Bro, he can lowkey do it. Bro, I don't want to get way too."
The first participant managed to lift the cube because, according to some people, he moved his palm underneath it, which made it easier to lift. Speed and his team accepted his attempt and declared the participant the winner. Lifting a 20-kilogram cube is harder than lifting a 20-kg dumbbell because the cube has a smooth surface, and so it becomes difficult to grip.
Most people find a 20-kg dumbbell easier because their fingers wrap around its handle. A 20-kg cube is different because the person has to press firmly with the thumb, fingertips, and palm to create enough friction to stop it from sliding back down.
Various barriers like sweat, hand size, finger length, and the cube's width decide whether someone could succeed or fail. Grip athletes practice this skill by squeezing smooth weight plates together, a tough exercise even for very strong people.
IShowSpeed cube lifting challenge: The failed contestant
Speed then moved on to the next contestant. He said if she could pick up this cube, she would win $10,000. When she was about to lift the cube and couldn't lift it, she ultimately asked whether she could use her two hands.
Then, Speed allowed her to use two hands. When she again failed to lift it, Speed advised her to start doing push-ups every day 50 times. Finally, she won a high-five from Speed.
