Oliver Lowe’s novel, Kill Current: A Jon Hendricks Thriller, on which the upcoming movie under Two Dragonflies is based, is set to arrive in May 2027. It will be published by Zando, which is reportedly also set to executive produce the movie.
The movie will be a collaboration between Keanu Reeves’ Two Dragonflies and The Arena. Erik Feig is the CEO of The Arena, who has pointed out in an interview with Deadline how Keanu Reeves is “synonymous” with “intelligent action franchises”. Feig also spoke about the excitement regarding working with Reeves and Alexandra Grant in this project.
Besides shedding light on the story of avenging his protégé, Kill Current will also depict how shifting alliances bring forth a high-stakes situation. There will also be a race to gain some of the most valuable assets in the world. While speaking about this movie, Keanu Reeves revealed in an interview with Deadline that he is “excited and grateful” that he has received the opportunity to “develop Jon Hendricks” alongside “these wonderful collaborators.”
CEO and founder of Zando, Molly Stern, added in the interview with Deadline that Kill Current is “rooted in the issues” that are “shaping today’s world”. From aspects such as “semi-conductors” to “information warfare”, the storyline will explore relevant elements of the world. Stern’s words undeniably add to the intrigue for this movie.
According to Stern, the storyline of the novel delivers a “fast-paced, globe-trotting read” which fans who are inclined towards the thriller genre will be able to enjoy thoroughly. Besides Kill Current: A Jon Hendricks Thriller, Casey Stegman, who uses Oliver Lowe as a pen name, has multiple other published works.
