A lawyer reportedly accused the Korean YouTuber and live-streamer, Kagwang (originally known as Lee Sang-il), of harassing and financially exploiting a woman named Ingwi for three months. According to Maeil Business, posts and livestream clips were shared across online communities and social media under the title

"We file a complaint against Kagwang, a YouTuber who abused and stole women suspected of having leg surgery and intellectual disabilities."

The lawyer who is helping Ingwi carry out the legal proceedings alleged that the YouTuber and several broadcasters had verbally insulted and mistreated the woman for months to create broadcast content. Sources revealed that before the incident took place, Ingwi joined Kagwang's broadcasts as a fan despite recovering from artificial hip replacement surgery.

The allegations have sparked concerns about how a person's embarrassment and suffering could be used as content and how audiences agreed to watch, laugh, and drive viewership to Kagwang. If the claims were accurate, the issue would go beyond content creation and raise serious questions about consent, exploitation, and the treatment of a potentially vulnerable individual.

Kagwang had come under criticism after allegations against him surfaced online that he and members of his group bullied and humiliated Ingwi for three months and continued the alleged mistreatment after bringing her to Thailand. Sources revealed that Ingwi has a disability, but despite that, she joined the live-streamer's broadcast.

The lawyer alleged that during the broadcast Kagwang had broken the woman's crutches, limited her access to meals unless audience support goals were met, and intentionally disrupted her sleep during broadcasts in Thailand. The claims also mentioned that she was scolded for eating mangoes, and when she could no longer endure her hunger, she reportedly expressed a wish to leave.

The lawyer also claimed that the live-streamer took more than 10 million won each in appearance fees and viewer donations meant for Ingwi. He further alleged that Kagwang pressured and prevented Ingwi from seeking compensation under terms outlined in a contract.

What steps did Ingwi take before accusing Kagwang via a lawyer?

The lawyer revealed that Ingwi reached out for help on the evening of October 21, 2026, and requested emergency protection from the Korean Embassy in Thailand. The attorney further mentioned that embassy officials separated and protected her from the other broadcasters on the morning of October 22, 2026.

The attorney also explained that he is making plans to file legal complaints against those involved after her return to South Korea, including allegations of abuse, coercion, unlawful confinement, and assault causing injury. However, no confirmation about any specific actions has been made from the embassy.

The attorney finally pointed out that Ingwi might have an intellectual disability, but this claim was presented as his personal belief and not as a medically confirmed diagnosis.
