Laura Owens is the Arizona woman charged with 14 felonies involving two pregnancy allegations (one involving the former Bachelor star Clayton Echard). After a dramatic legal battle, she entered into a plea deal on Friday. The 35-year-old daughter of radio host Ronn Owens has pleaded guilty to two felony counts of fraudulent schemes and artifices, one count of taking the identity of another and one count of perjury during a settlement conference in Maricopa County Superior Court. The plea deal will dismiss the remaining 10 charges against Owens.Laura Owens filed a paternity lawsuit against Echard in 2023, claiming that she was pregnant with his twins and sought child support. However, the details of Owens' fraudulent scheme came to light partly because Echard and Gillespie shared the same family law attorney, Scottsdale lawyer Gregg Woodnick.The case took flight when prosecutors accused Owens of faking a pregnancy video, altering an ultrasound image and lying under oath during her proceedings.
