President Donald Trump has officially announced the "Era of Super Intelligence," and the internet is already reacting to it with comparisons. On September 29, Trump signed an executive order to use the term "Super Intelligence" (SI) instead of "Artificial Intelligence" (AI) across the executive branch, according to a statement released on the White House website.

The statement also says that government agencies will use the new official term for AI instead of the previous term, while the Assistant to the President for Science and Technology (APST) works on defining the new term SI.

Later, a post was also uploaded on the White House and Donald Trump's official Instagram account with the caption that read:

"Official. INAUGURATING THE ERA OF SUPER INTELLIGENCE."

The image on the post showed a dark background with glowing light trails and bold metallic text reading "SUPER INTELLIGENCE" and "SI." The upper center also featured a small White House icon.

Commenting on the post, a user wrote:

The internet reacts as Donald Trump makes the 'Super Intelligence' term official

Last week, during his speech at the UN General Assembly, President Donald Trump spoke about "Super Intelligence" and said the term "Artificial Intelligence" makes it sound fake. Trump also said that U.S. documents would use "Super Intelligence" instead of "Artificial Intelligence," adding:

"In other words, welcome to the new world of Super Intelligence dash SI."

Along with signing the executive order, Trump also shared a post on Truth Social sharing the documents about the same, with the order stating that newer technology can do much more than earlier AI systems and can help people in areas like science and medicine. It also says old rules, contracts, grants, and documents from the past will remain the same.

After the announcement was shared on Instagram, the internet reacted with their own opinions. Let's have a look.

"Why not DI: Digital Intelligence? ... super intelligence implies it's higher than human intelligence which it clearly isn't at the moment as it needs human guidance at various places." an Instagram user wrote.
"Synthetic Intelligence sounds better imo." another user added.
"I will still call it AI, but I love the rebranding SI 🔥," one more user commented.
"It's not just a name change... it's a whole new direction." another user added.
"And that's the best image they could have come up with to use," one more user wrote.

The announcement quickly gained reactions online, with people sharing different views on the new term. While some came up with other names or said they would stick with AI, others agreed with the change and welcomed the idea of calling it "Super Intelligence."

Before announcing the new term, the White House also shared a post featuring Donald Trump's photo and a quote from him dated September 29, 2026. In the statement, Trump said that companies working on "Super Intelligence" are growing very quickly and that the country is seeing huge growth in the field. He also said that the country that leads in SI will have an advantage.
