Lili Reinhart admits she couldn’t be more different from her The Love Hypothesis character

It is almost The Love Hypothesis Day, which is undeniably one of the most anticipated moments for the fans of the Ali Hazelwood book on which it is based. Lili Reinhart brings life to Olive Smith’s character while Tom Bateman takes on the role of Dr. Adam Carlsen.

The movie is set to drop on September 23. Over the past few months, both Lili Reinhart and Tom Bateman have been doing promotions for the movie, which have further intrigued viewers. Many viewers have pointed out how both Reinhart and Bateman are the perfect cast for the characters. However, in a recent interview with PEOPLE, Lili Reinhart notes that she is quite different than Olive in real life.

In the interview, Lili Reinhart has added that unlike Olive Smith of The Love Hypothesis, whose world revolves around science and is a Ph.D. candidate eager to pursue a future in academia, science was never her subject. According to Reinhart, science was her “worst subject”. Unlike Olive, Reinhart “didn’t go to college,” which adds another difference between her on-screen character and her real life.

Hence, she “couldn’t relate less to being a graduate student in science”. Even though there are many differences between Lili Reinhart and her character in The Love Hypothesis, the manner in which she embodies her character in the movie has intrigued the viewers. Reinhart notes that while filming The Love Hypothesis, she came across many students who appreciated them for giving them representation through the movie.

The movie was filmed in Montreal, where many of the students of the college where the movie was being filmed came up to them and spoke about being “big fans of the book”. Reinhart adds that she “feels really amazing” to be able to bring life to a character and be present in a project that is centered “around women in science”. Romantic comedy projects surrounding “women in science” are a rare event.

Hence, this movie provides the perfect opportunity to give these women representation. In the interview, Lili Reinhart adds that it has been an “honor to give those girls the moment they deserve” through The Love Hypothesis. She also adds that the movie gives “credit where credit is due”. It cannot be denied that right after the announcement of the movie, there has been immense anticipation that has kept on rising.

The primary focus of the movie will be on how a “fake relationship” between Olive and Adam slowly transforms into something completely unexpected. Viewers will be able to tune in to the movie on September 23 on Prime Video. Besides Tom Bateman and Lili Reinhart, some of the other cast members of The Love Hypothesis are Rachel Marsh, Nicholas Duvernay, Arty Froushan, Aladeen Tawfeek, etc.

Rachel Marsh will take on the role of Olive’s best friend, Ahn, who will become a propelling factor in bringing Adam and Olive closer. It will also be intriguing to see how her relationship with Adam unfolds and whether the movie is able to perfectly capture the depth of the Ali Hazelwood book, which already has a huge fandom.
