Boston's Brigham and Women's Hospital chaplain Sheila Cavanaugh reportedly revealed that Lindsay Clancy had expressed her relief by saying that her children are safe after their deaths. According to People Magazine, Cavanaugh testified that she met with Clancy more than 200 times after her children's deaths.
Brigham and Women's Hospital treated Clancy after she attempted suicide for what she had done to her three children, Cora, Dawson, and Callan, inside her home in Duxbury, Massachusetts. After strangling and killing her kids, she reportedly cut her wrists and jumped from a second-story window in an attempt to commit su*cide on January 24, 2023.
Cavanaugh was summoned to testify as a defense witness during Clancy's widely followed murder trial on August 20. Her testimony was broadcast live by the Associated Press.

Lindsay Clancy trial update: Hospital chaplain Sheila Cavanaugh testifies in court
CBS News reported that Lindsay Clancy's attorneys called just one witness, Sheila Cavanaugh before the judge and then dismissed the jury until tomorrow. According to reports, the witness worked as a chaplain at Brigham and Women's Hospital for 7 years. She met with Clancy when she was admitted after killing her children.
The chaplain said that Clancy was intubated while hospitalized after jumping out of a window at her Duxbury home and further added that her emotional state was neutral. According to her, Clancy said,
"I am so glad my children are safe."
Cavanaugh also explained that she and Clancy had been praying together for the three kids. When she visited her on January 31, Clancy held her hand for comfort and told her she was glad her children were safe. Cavanaugh responded with theological assurance telling Lindsay that her children were indeed safe.
Cavanaugh further added that she reassured Clancy by saying her children were safe in heaven with God, held her hand throughout their conversation and prayed for the children.
Lindsay Clancy trial update: The chaplain testifies about the signs of Clancy's postpartum psychosis
The chaplain further explained that during their conversation, Clancy mentioned hearing a voice that she believed had warned her that if she didn't obey its command, neither she nor her children would remain safe.
Clancy didn't deny that she had killed her children but the defense argued that she was suffering from postpartum psychosis. The prosecution has maintained up to this point that Clancy intentionally killed her children.
The judge ended the session for the day and tomorrow is expected to be longer because both the defense and the prosecution had planned to call doctors as witnesses.
