Mackenzie Shirilla disciplinary reports: A complete breakdown of prison conduct violations

Mackenzie Shirilla disciplinary reports show that the twenty-one-year-old has accumulated multiple conduct violations since starting her prison sentence in 2023. Mackenzie Shirilla was sentenced to life in prison for fifteen years after the 2022 Strongsville crash.

Shirilla was involved in a crash with her boyfriend, Dominic Russo, and her friend, Davion Flanagan. While Shirilla survived the incident, Russo and Flanagan lost their lives. Shirilla was later charged with murder and was found guilty in 2023. The court gave her a sentence of fifteen years in prison.

Shirilla was admitted to the Ohio Reformatory for Women in Marysville in August 2023. As per Mackenzie Shirilla disciplinary reports obtained by 3News, she has received 36 conduct reports. She has been found not guilty in three cases and guilty in thirty-two cases. The one remaining case had no listed outcome.

Her most recent violation was refusing to complete a prison work assignment, which occurred last month.

Below are the Mackenzie Shirilla disciplinary reports and the violations from her time in jail:

  • Out of Place: 7 times
  • Possessing Contraband: 6 times
  • Disobeying a Direct Order: 4 times
  • Violating Institutional Rules, Regulations, or Procedures: 4 times

Out of Place was Mackenzie Shirilla's most common violation, for which she was found guilty seven times. The violence showed that she was in the areas where she was not allowed to be at that particular time.

She was also found guilty six times of having unauthorized items like paint bottles and charms. As per Mackenzie Shirilla disciplinary reports obtained by 3News, she was also found with the medication that was prescribed to another inmate, which she admitted to using even after knowing it was not hers. The report also mentioned a personal photo, which appeared to show drug use.


Other serious Mackenzie Shirilla prison conduct violations

The remaining guilty violations include the following offenses:

  • Consensual Sexual Conduct: One of the more serious violations involved consensual sexual conduct with another inmate while she was in custody, for which she was found guilty.
  • Sexual Harassment: Shirilla was also found guilty of sexual harassment after repeatedly violating dress code rules. As per the Mackenzie Shirilla disciplinary reports, a staff member claimed that even after being told multiple times, she was seen in altered and form-fitting clothing. There's also another case where she entered the housing unit in altered pants and a shirt left open with an altered hoodie. When officials tried to take the clothing, she reportedly denied giving up her hoodie, saying that her bra would be seen. Shirilla was also charged and found guilty under Rule 3.7 for inappropriate sexual behavior after allegedly arriving in an improper state of dress.
  • Video Visitation Violations: She faced two violations in this case, one report alleging that during the video visit, she displayed her breast, and another report claimed that a person who was not properly clothed and not allowed to be present accidentally came into view during her video visit.
  • Creating Disturbances: Shirilla was also reported for creating disruptions, with one report stating that she was found talking during the headcount in prison when the inmates were supposed to stay silent.

While Mackenzie Shirilla has been in prison since 2023, the release of the Netflix documentary The Crash has brought the public's focus back on the case. As per the reports, she will remain in prison until 2037.
