Netflix has released the trailer for Maddie Ziegler's upcoming movie, In a Holidaze. Alongside Ziegler, we will also see Rob Lowe, Graham Phillips, and Elias Kacavas. The Christmas themed movie, directed by Tiffany Paulsen, famous for About Fate, Holidate, and Winter Spring Summer or Fall, is based on the book of the same name by Christina Lauren.

The movie revolves around a young woman who gets stuck reliving the same Christmas after making a big mistake in her love life. To break out of the time loop, she has to find out what she actually wants.

The In a Holidaze trailer gives us a weird love life, a wrong-brother kiss, and a Christmas that keeps repeating itself. Mae turns to Benny for advice as she tries to figure out her feelings for Andrew, but things get even more confusing when she realizes she has been reliving the same holiday.

More on the story below.

What does the In a Holidaze trailer reveal?

The trailer for In a Holidaze starts with Mae (played by Maddie Ziegler) telling Benny (played by Rob Lowe) that she kissed Theo (played by Elias Kacavas). Benny, her pseudo-uncle, asks her if she means Andrew (played by Graham Phillips). After learning the truth, he even asks how she kissed the wrong brother, and he thinks that it was Andrew. Turns out, Andrew even saw her kissing Theo.

Mae says that it has always been Andrew, and she has been waiting for a year to tell him how she really feels about him. But when the moment came, she accidentally kissed Theo and ruined her Christmas.

The trailer then takes viewers back in the timeline as Mae explains that:

"It's Christmas, and I'm an emotional wreck because my parents got divorced."

She spends her last Christmas at the mountain cabin, which she describes as "cozy." She decides to tell Andrew how she actually feels about him. But at the same time, she is too scared to make a decision and is waiting for a sign from the universe to tell her what to do.

In one scene of the In a Holidaze trailer, Mae is talking to her divorced parents and says they can't let their friends sell the cabin. Her mother, however, tells her that change is good. Just then, an accident happens, and Mae finds herself stuck in a time loop, reliving the same day as she is seen sitting on a plane.

In one scene, Mae says:

"I'm projecting my fears onto a time loop fantasy. Maybe if I stop being afraid, I'll stop starting over."

At one point in the trailer, Mae wonders what would happen if she took a chance and everything went wrong. However, she is reminded that things could turn out perfectly if she is willing to take that risk. Towards the end of the trailer, Mae finally admits to Andrew that she has feelings for him. However, she quickly adds that she wasn't going to say that this time, leaving Andrew confused about what she means by "this time."

Speaking of the In a Holidaze concept, Maddie Ziegler told People that the time loop lets viewers see different sides of Mae as she relives Christmas. She added that the story is also about Mae discovering more about herself and finding the courage to go after what she really wants. She revealed that Groundhog Day and The Family Stone were among the movies that helped shape her approach to the movie, along with the romantic Christmas movies she grew up watching.

In a Holidaze is scheduled to release on December 2 on Netflix.
