The X-Men reboot film is expected to be released on May 5, 2028, and casting has been underway for quite some time. Directed by Jake Schreier, the film is going to bring in an entire new cast to play the X-Men.

While a few cast members were announced earlier, Marvel has just cast Asa Germann as an X-Men in the reboot.

X-Men reboot cast

Asa Germann is best-known for his roles as Sam Riordan in Gen-V and The Boys. The actor is also known for playing Lucas Bowden in Scream 7 and Tyler in Two Little Boys. Now, Germann has been cast as Angel in the X-Men reboot.

Angel's real name is Warren Worthington III. In the Marvel comics, he is one of the original X-Men and can fly. He also has angel-like wings, which justifies his name. Originally, Warren was a hero who fought crime before he became an X-Men. Warren is able to fly because his body is adapted to do so. Here's how Marvel describes his powers:

Angel’s entire anatomy is adapted for flight, having hollow bones, a body virtually devoid of fat, muscle mass proportionately greater than a similarly-sized human, eyes that can withstand high-speed winds, enhanced eyesight enabling him to see at distances far greater than the average human, and a special respiratory membrane that extracts oxygen from the air at high velocities and altitudes.

Moreover, Angel can heal himself extremely quickly and also heal others if he gives them his blood (given both are compatible). He is evidently an asset, and Professor X realized that and recruited him. Asa Germann will be joining the X-Men reboot cast as Angel along with a number of other cast members.

The X-Men reboot cast also includes Stranger Things, Spider-Man: Brand New Day, and The Whale star, Sadie Sink, as Jean Grey. Kit Connor, who you might know from Heartstopper, Heartstopper Forever, and Warfare, stars as Cyclops. Inde Navarrette, who played her breakout role in Obsession and is also known for her roles in Superman & Lois, has been cast as Rogue.

Samara Weaving stars as Emma Frost. Weaving is also known for her roles in Ready or Not, Ready or Not 2: Here I Come, The Babysitter: Killer Queen, Scream VI, and Over Your Dead Body. Christopher Abbott, who you might remember from East of Eden, Kraven the Hunter, and The Crowded Room, has been cast as Prof. X.

Adam Driver, known for his roles in Marriage Story, Girls, Star Wars sequel trilogy, and House of Gucci, has been cast as Nathaniel Milbury / Mister Sinister. Maya Boyd, who is known for her stage performances in Merrily We Roll Along, & Juliet, and Joe Turner's Come and Gone, has been cast as Storm.

The X-Men reboot is written by Lee Sung Jin and Joanna Calo, based on an earlier draft by Michael Lesslie. More cast, crew, and plot details are expected to be revealed in due time. The film is scheduled to be released in theaters on May 5, 2028.
