Taylor Parker, the woman at the center of the Maternal Instinct Netflix series, is once again in the headlines, this time for reportedly defying a prison officer's order about her sleeping arrangement while serving her sentence.
According to the documents acquired by TMZ, Parker refused to listen to the prison officer who asked her not to sleep on the cell floor with her mattress. As of now, the details about the situation are limited.
As per the Texas Department of Criminal Justice, Parker was sentenced after she murdered a twenty-one-year-old pregnant woman and took her baby from her womb. The incident took place in October 2020.
Last month, a one-hour and thirty-six-minute documentary was released on Netflix titled Maternal Instinct. The documentary featured footage of Parker in the hospital and interviews from her close ones who spoke about her behaviour and how she carried out the crime.
Taylor Parker: Maternal Instinct Netflix subject reportedly defies prison officer's sleeping order

As reported by TMZ, a prison officer ordered Taylor Parker not to sleep on the cell floor with the mattress. However, Parker reportedly didn't follow the officer's order, which became her only prison rule violation, considering she had been following all the orders of prison officers.
Apart from stating that Parker allegedly refused the officer's order, the report does not provide any additional details, including the reason behind her sleeping on the cell floor, why she refused to follow the officer's orders, and what happened after she allegedly defied the officer's order.
According to the Texas Department of Corrections, Taylor Parker is currently on death row at the Patrick L. O'Daniel Unit in Gatesville, Texas.
As reported by KTLA, Parker tried to challenge her conviction, saying she did not get a fair trial. However, the appeals court rejected her request. Additionally, the Supreme Court also denied to review her case after she requested a review for the same.
What did Taylor Parker do?
Taylor Parker murdered the twenty-one-year-old Reagan Simmons-Hancock, whom she first met in 2019.
Hancock was Texas-based and came across Parker after deciding to go with her to shoot her wedding photos. In October 2020, when Regan was thirty-five months pregnant, Taylor went to her house, murdered her, and took the baby out of her womb. The baby died in the hospital.
Hancock's mother arrived at the scene after her phone wasn't answered and found her daughter dead in the house. She had ninety-eight incised cuts along with fifteen stab wounds.
Taylor later called the authorities from a highway, stating that the baby she gave birth to isn't breathing. The officers arrived on the scene and took her to a hospital, where doctors discovered that Taylor had never been pregnant. This raised suspicions, and investigators began questioning her about whose baby it was.
Reagan's mother played an important part by calling the authorities, which led to them finding the evidence surrounding the incident. This helped them connect Taylor to Reagan's murder.
Taylor Parker also used a fake baby bump and pretended to have pregnancy symptoms to fake being pregnant. However, her friends soon became suspicious of the pregnancy, considering she had a hysterectomy in the past and she also had many false claims about her illness over time.
Parker's boyfriend, Wade, felt at a loss for words after learning about what she did to Reagan, calling it "unimaginable."
