Meghan Markle's estranged father, Thomas Markle Sr., was arrested by U.S. federal agents near Tampa, Florida, on November 6, 2026, and charged with one count of possession of child p*rnography. As the BBC reported, the US Department of Justice, in their statement, revealed that investigators had found roughly 78 items of child se*ual abuse material (CSAM) in his possession.

These items were stored in two Los Angeles-area storage units Markle had rented since 2008. However, the FBI affidavit has revealed disturbing details about the case that suggest that Meghan Markle's estranged father, Thomas Markle Sr., might get charged with more than one count of possession of child p*rnography.

Details about what exactly was found in the possession of Meghan Markle's estranged father, Thomas Markle Sr.

The U.S. Department of Justice announced that Meghan Markle’s estranged father, Thomas Markle Sr., aged 82, has been charged with one count of possessing child sexual abuse material (CSAM). The DOJ, in its statement, described what was found in Thomas' possession. In the statement, First Assistant United States Attorney Bill Essayli said:

“Mr. Markle is accused of possessing child se*ual abuse material, including photographs depicting himself with minor girls.”

The statement also states:

"Inside the units, agents seized approximately 78 items, including slides, film negatives, and books that contained suspected CSAM."

As The Sun reported, according to the FBI affidavit released by the US Department of Justice on November 6, 2026, an FBI special agent identified approximately 18 suspected CSAM images from the negatives recovered from the first storage unit. The most disturbing details of the affidavit are three photographs that allegedly show Markle with nude prepubescent girls.

In the first two images, the man identified as Thomas Markle Sr., Meghan Markle's estranged father, is seen with a nude prepubescent girl. The third image is of a nude prepubescent girl in a room that seems to be part of a motel chain in the Philippines. The agent also reportedly found additional photographs that appeared to show Thomas Markle Sr. with children in various stages of undress.

As The Sun had earlier reported, Thomas Markle Sr.'s son, Thomas Markle Jr., discovered a cache of illicit materials in his father's former residence in Cebu, Philippines, in October 2026. He had reported it to local police and the FBI, which started the investigation into Thomas Markle Sr.

According to the FBI affidavit released by the US Department of Justice, the FBI traced markings on the film negatives to manufacturing locations outside California and identified an Anahaw Lodge logo in a photograph, linking the location to a motel chain in the Philippines. As The Sun now reports, Juanito Victor Remulla, the Philippines Interior Secretary, has revealed that some of the children who were seen in the disturbing images were as young as ten.

Although Meghan Markle's estranged father, Thomas Markle Sr., currently faces one count of possessing child p*rnography under federal law, his charges might increase. The photographs described in the FBI affidavit could prompt investigators to examine whether he was also involved in se*ually abusing children or producing child se*ual abuse material. Such offenses carry separate criminal penalties.

However, the affidavit does not formally accuse him of either offense. It establishes probable cause for the existing possession charge, while the investigation continues.

Meghan Markle's estranged father, Thomas Markle Sr., has denied the allegations. He is scheduled for an initial appearance in federal court in Tampa, Florida. If convicted, he faces a maximum statutory sentence of 20 years in federal prison, which can increase if he is later also charged with se*ually abusing children, producing child se*ual abuse material or any other charge.
