Michael B. Jordan is starring, directing, and producing a new reimagination of the 1968 heist film, The Thomas Crown Affair. Jordan's version stars him as Thomas Crown, a billionaire who happens to be a thief. What's even more interesting is that he has just completed a heist that made him feel alive.

It isn't every day that a billionaire orchestrates a heist, and this time, after stealing a precious painting, someone's going to come looking for him. However, she might just fall in love first.

The Thomas Crown Affair brings us a new version of the titular character but with the same charm

This is the second reimagination of The Thomas Crown Affair after the 1999 one starring Pierce Brosnan. While a complete storyline of the upcoming film isn't available, the teaser trailer reveals Michael B. Jordan as Thomas Crown, who steals a painting with such finesse he isn't caught.

We also realize that given Thomas' affluence, he doesn't steal for money, but rather for the thrill. The teaser also suggests that this might not be his first hiest, and he has been taking risks like this all his life. However, as Thomas describes his latest heist, he says

"I felt alive. My heart was racing."

As The Thomas Crown Affair teaser also reveals, Thomas isn't scared of being caught either. He is confident and plans out everything meticulously, which makes him believe he can get away with it all. Adria Arjona's character is going to be the one investigating him, and while she will try to catch him off guard, she might just fall in love.

Not only is this heist not Thomas' first, he makes it clear that he has no intention of stopping, and that's what excites him. The hiest at the center of the film made him feel like it was too easy, and it is clear that he wants to keep doing heists like this simply because the thrill of it excites him.

While the context and reason aren't made clear yet, The Thomas Crown Affair teaser also shows us Thomas car racing. He has a minor mishap on track, and that might be something that's important to his story. This particular angle hasn't been a part of the earlier films and is a completely new side to the character. A full storyline for the film is yet to be revealed. The Thomas Crown Affair will be released in theaters on March 5, 2027.

Besides Jordan and Arjona, the film also stars Kenneth Branagh, Lily Gladstone, Danai Gurira, Pilou Asbæk, and Aiysha Hart in undisclosed roles.

The film is written by Drew Pearce and Jason Hall. Besides Jordan, the film is also produced by Patrick McCormick, Marc Toberoff, and Charles Roven. Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer, Outlier Society, Atlas Entertainment, and Toberoff Productions are the production companies behind the film. Amazon MGM Studios is distributing the film in the USA, while Sony Pictures Releasing International will be handling the international distribution.

The Thomas Crown Affair will be released in theaters on March 5, 2027.
