The internet is circulating rumors that Milly Alcock's tenure as Supergirl might come to an end. People are pointing at Alcock's Instagram account, which has been purged of any post about the DCU project, which was released in June this year. As of now, we don't know if the Australian actress has indeed exited the DCU or not.

It is possible that she is being directed to do so to build up anticipation. But one thing is confirmed as of now: her version of Kara Zor-El will play a key role in Man of Tomorrow. Thus, there is one more DCU project in which we know Alcock will appear as Supergirl: the Superman sequel.

The latest social media move by Supergirl actress Milly Alcock is explained as follows

Fans recently noticed that Alcock has removed every post promoting Supergirl, including her casting announcement in 2024. This shocking move has fans wondering if her tenure as the Girl of Steel is up. Some outlets, such as Cosmic Book News, are citing the underperformance of Alcock's solo DCU outing as a reason for her exit. In fact, the outlet even described Milly Alcock's exit as "firing".

However, it should be noted that we should take the story about "firing" as just a rumor, and nothing else. Alcock deleting social media posts about the DCU project could just be her cleaning her timeline. There is also another way to interpret her move, though.

She could just be drumming up excitement for Man of Tomorrow

We know that Alcock is appearing as Kara Zor-El in next year's Man of Tomorrow. Supergirl's ending already set up her return as Kara informs Superman that she sees Earth as her new home. Thus, it is possible that the Australian actress is just trying to keep people talking about her future in the DCU after the Superman sequel.

We might learn more about her future in the DCU after the Superman follow-up next year. Peter Safran had already told Variety that the Girl of Steel is a key player: “She’s a major part of what we’re doing".

While it is possible Safran was talking about the character's role in Man of Tomorrow, the DC Studios co-CEO was also probably teasing Kara's role in the DCU going forward. Therefore, we might get a clearer picture of Milly Alcock's future in the DCU next year.

We will probably see her in the Man of Tomorrow's teaser

Man of Tomorrow has already wrapped up filming, and James Gunn is involved in the post-production of the movie. Therefore, we can expect the teaser trailer to be released soon. It is likely that we will catch a glimpse of Kara in that teaser, which hasn't been released yet. We know that Brainiac is the central antagonist of Man of Tomorrow, and we can expect Kara to help out her cousin.

Peter Safran was recently asked by IGN about when the marketing campaign for Man of Tomorrow will begin. Safran's response was:

"I think it's early days, it's early days. That's something that we'll determine in the coming month."

Based on this answer, we can expect the sequel will follow in Superman's footsteps and start releasing the first poster and possibly, even the teaser trailer this December.

As that happens, every DCU movie, including the Kara Zor-El solo movie, will be accessible via streaming on HBO Max.

"When an unexpected and ruthless adversary strikes too close to home, Kara Zor-El, aka Supergirl, reluctantly joins forces with an unlikely companion on an epic, interstellar journey of vengeance and justice."

Do you think that Milly Alcock is really out as Kara Zor-El?
