Conservative political commentator Matt Walsh has strongly criticized Apple’s HomeView advertisement, characterizing it as an unnecessary addition to the consumer’s tech market.

The 40-year-old took to social media platforms like X and Facebook to call out the commercial. In an X post, shared on October 15, 2026, Walsh wrote:

“Maybe the most important commercial ever made. You should watch it very carefully, pay close attention, and then make sure that your own family and home life are exactly the opposite of this ad in every single respect. I don't think that's the takeaway Apple had in mind however.”

Apple’s commercial for the new gadget displays a chaotic family’s busy morning routine. It reflects a messy kitchen, overlapping shouting, sibling bickering, forgotten keys and unexpected incoming calls. It portrays the 7-inch sleek-designed gadget as a central hub amid domestic disorder, which manages your smart home, plays entertainment, and keeps family members connected.

Matt Walsh has always been critical of Apple primarily over its corporate Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) practices and policies.

Details explored as Matt Walsh criticizes Apple HomeView ad

Matt Walsh has repeatedly criticized Apple over the years for its DEI-driven and woke policies.

His recent criticism of the Apple HomeView commercial saw mixed reactions from fans and critics on social media. A majority of commentators noted the disrespectful context of the HomeView commercial, where a son calls his dad by his name. They didn’t relate to the ad, saying that it featured too much morning chaos rather than showing peaceful mornings. Others viewed it as “the most important commercial” ever made and praised it.

On The Matt Walsh show, he strongly criticized Apple CEO Tim Cook’s “Mother Nature” promotional video. In the September 14, 2023, edition of his show, he called it the “cringiest corporate virtue signal of all time.” Panning the video further, Walsh called it “uber-wokeness,” “wokeness on steroids” and “corporate woke virtual signaling,” before mocking Tim Cook as a “company CEO groveling to Mother Nature.”

In May 2024, the Daily Wire host criticized an Apple iPad commercial that drew backlash and an apology from the company. The Crush! commercial featured a massive hydraulic press crushing a piano, guitar, books, camera lenses, paint cans and arcade games. The ad shared by then-Apple CEO Tim Cook on May 7 was largely criticized by fans and critics. Cook posted the commercial on X, stating:

“Meet the new iPad Pro: the thinnest product we’ve ever created, the most advanced display we’ve ever produced, with the incredible power of the M4 chip. Just imagine all the things it’ll be used to create.”

Matt Walsh joined a chorus of commentators calling out the tech giant in a video segment, arguing that the ad was a "disaster" and how it accidentally told the truth about Big Tech's worldview. Critics argued that the ad represented how technology acts as a destructive force to human creativity rather than enhancing it.

Some users wrote that the commercial would have been apt if it showed the exact reverse of what was being displayed. Apple later issued an apology, saying that they “missed the mark” with the video. According to a report in The Guardian, the company wrote in a statement:

“Creativity is in our DNA at Apple, and it’s incredibly important to us to design products that empower creatives all over the world. Our goal is to always celebrate the myriad of ways users express themselves and bring their ideas to life through iPad. We missed the mark with this video, and we’re sorry.”

In August 2024, in a Daily Wire column and Matt Walsh Show episode titled Apple Makes It Clear: White Men Need Not Apply, Walsh attacked Apple’s Entrepreneur Camp. He criticized Apple for its discrimination against white and Asian male founders.

The Apple Entrepreneur Camp is a technology program designed to support underrepresented founders and developers who build app-driven businesses. Its target audience included female, Black, Hispanic/Latinx, and Indigenous founders, co-founders, and developers who have a functional app, prototype, or TestFlight beta build.
