MrBeast’s viral police chase with 100 Indiana State troopers ends with $500K win

MrBeast has turned a familiar game of hide-and-seek into a massive police pursuit. He didn't just put himself, but four of his friends against 100 Indiana State Police troopers for a $500,000 prize.

This is about his latest challenge, in which the YouTube creator and his group had 12 hours to avoid being captured inside a sprawling military training facility in southern Indiana.

It was released on August 22, 2026, as the challenge put $500,000 at stake. As previously explained, the challenge was that these five contestants only had 12 hours to stay hidden.

The location was big enough to give the group different places to hide. They included buildings, roads, and other structures spread across the large training facility. The group used camouflage, disguises, and different hiding spots as they tried to stay ahead of the troopers.

On the other side, the police had a total of 100 troopers searching the area, along with Indiana State Police vehicles and other equipment. The officers were taking part in the production while off duty.

MrBeast and his friends managed to avoid capture for much of the challenge, but the police eventually found all five. They were caught with about an hour and a half still left on the clock, giving the Indiana State Police the win and ending the $500,000 challenge.

The 12-hour escape challenge puts MrBeast against 100 troopers

MrBeast's new challenge was filmed at the Muscatatuck Urban Training Center near Butlerville, Indiana. The large Indiana National Guard facility has a mock urban area with buildings, streets and other structures that made it possible to hide in many different places.

MrBeast was one of the participant of the challenge along with four of his friends, Alison, Tareq, Nolan and Darius. While they were just four, 100 Indiana State Police troopers were given the job of finding them. And as revealed before, they had half of the day, 12 hours to stay out of the troopers' reach.

The winning amount of his challenge was $500,000 but the money came with another personal angle. Each contestant had a backpack worth $100,000, with the prize intended for their mother if they managed to remain free until the challenge ended.

The group used camouflage and disguises to stay out of the troopers' eyes. Not only this, but dumpsters and concealed areas were also used in MrBeast's challenge.

The troopers had very different resources at their disposal. Indiana State Police cruisers, SWAT and tactical vehicles, along with other equipment, were used as they searched through the training area.

The officers were not working their regular shifts for the video. They took part in the challenge only when they were off-duty and the challenge looked like a real search with fun.

The five contestants were given a head start before the troopers began moving through the training center. With 100 officers covering the area, the search quickly turned into a race against time for everyone trying to stay hidden.

One of the contestants, Darius caught within the first 10 minutes. The others kept moving between hiding spots. As time passed, the officers kept making the challenge harder for the contestants.

MrBeast and the other four contestants tried several ways to throw the police off their trail, but the search eventually closed in on everyone. The final members were caught and taken away in a SWAT vehicle.

All five had been captured with around 1 hour and 30 minutes still left before the 12-hour limit. That meant the Indiana State Police won the $500,000 challenge, while none of the contestants qualified for the $100,000 escape prizes.
