New Avengers: Doomsday Hot Toys figurines are quietly giving away the Doombot arc

Hot Toys posted an image of new action figures of Victor Von Doom from Avengers: Doomsday. Doom is seen wearing a dark gray suit in these action figures while the trailers show the Latverian ruler in metal armor. These two different attires have many believing that the change in clothes symbolizes Doom's character arc throughout the movie.

The upcoming MCU project is one of this year's most anticipated projects, as Marvel has kept everything a secret. It wasn't until July that the first trailer was even released online. Therefore, Avengers: Doomsday continues to be one of the most discussed movies of this year.

Avengers: Doomsday's latest Doctor Doom theory explained

You can see Victor Von Doom in a gray suit in the Hot Toys post above. This post has many fans theorizing that Doom might start the movie as an ally of the heroes. We met Doctor Doom for the first time in The Fantastic Four: First Steps post credit scene. The trailer released during D23 Expo hints that Sue Storm knew Victor Von Doom even before the First Steps post credit scene.

Plot leaks have suggested that Doom was researching the incursions and already knows that Earth-828 is doomed for an incursion. Thus, Doom, along with Franklin and the Fantastic Four, travel to Earth-616, leading to the Thunderbolts* post-credit scene. If Avengers: Doomsday plot leaks are to be believed, Victor initially helps the Avengers to save Earth-616.

However, Doom's turn to the dark side is where different leaks vary. Some leaks suggest that Doom discovers that Tony Stark was a son of the Doom of Earth-616, who was killed by the CIA during the Cold War. Other leaks suggest that Doom just hid his intentions all along, and his ultimate goal is to kill Loki and take control of all of reality.

Robert Downey Jr.'s Doom is set to be the villain of not just Doomsday but also Avengers: Secret Wars. Doomsday might end with the formation of Battleworld, giving Doom control of reality. Thus, we can also see the debut of the Doombots in the upcoming movie. For those who don't know, Doombots in the comics are robots that look like Doom.

Doomsday could set up the Doombots' role as his enforcers for next year's Secret Wars. Another possibility for the two different outfits is that there are two different Dooms. Even if Robert Downey Jr. is confirmed as Doctor Doom, fans are convinced that Doomsday will sneak in Cillian Murphy as Doom.
